Angelica Torn Leads Actors Studio's ANNA CHRISTIE 1/30

Angelica Torn and Con Horgan are now co-starring in The Actors Studio limited engagement production of the Pulitzer Prize winning Eugene O'Neil classic Anna Christie, through January 30th. The two are also preparing for the special industry/actors benefit performance on Monday, February 7th at 5pm, with proceeds going to The Actors Fund. Anna Christie is being directed by Tony Award nominated Wilson Milam and also co-star's Larry Block, David Dempsey, Timothy Doyle, and Denise Lute. Tickets are donation only, with a suggested $50 donation for the benefit performance.

Eugene O'Neil's Anna Christie has been a staple in American theatre since the four-act
play debuted in the 1921. Somewhat controversial for its time, Anna Christie is the story of a former prostitute who falls in love, but runs into difficulty in turning her life around. Angelica Torn, who became an Actors Studio board member this past year, joins on illustrious list of actresses who played Anna Christie, including Celeste Holm, Liv Ullman and Natasha Richardson.

In addition to starring in Anna Christie, Angelica Torn will also appear at the highly-anticipated Celebration of Tennessee Williams at the 92nd Street Y, along with Alec Baldwin, Zoe Caldwell, Olympia Dukakis, Eli Wallach, Zoe Kazan, John Guare, Tony Kushner and Marian Seides on Monday, February 7th at 8pm. The event will feature readings and remembrances in honor of playwright Tennessee Williams. As most people know, Torn's parents, Geraldine Page and Rip Torn, were both in the film version of the Williams classic Sweet Bird of Youth. Visit for details

Angelica Torn also recently celebrated the success of the independent feature film she starred in and directed, Lucky Days, with Federico Castelluccio, Anne Jackson, her dad Rip Torn and Marilyn Sokol. Lucky Days, produced through her Torn Page Productions, was shot entirely on location in Coney Island and went on to win the Gold Remy Award for Best Feature at the Houston International Film Festival/Wordfest and Best Feature at the Coney Island Film Festival.

After her role in Anna Christie, Angelica Torn will star at the Coral Gables' New Theatre in Coral Gables, Florida in a production of Shirley Lauro's The Radiant, playing the lead role of Marie Curie, the scientist whose work in the field of radioactivity won her two Nobel prizes. Torn will appear in The Radiant from March 25-April 17, 2011.

The Actors Studio at 432 West 44th Street (between 9th and 10th Avenues).
