The original production of A CHORUS LINE opened at the Public Theater's Newman Theatre on May 21, 1975 and transferred to Broadway's Shubert Theatre on July 25th, where it officially opened on Broadway on October 19th of that year. It won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Direction, Choreography, Actress, Supporting Actress, Score and Book, and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award. It ran for nearly 15 years, closing on April 28, 1990 after 6,137 performances.

Mario Lopez will be making his Broadway Debut in the musical A Chorus Line on April 15th. Mr. Lopez is an 'Extra TV' host and was a finalist on 'Dancing with the Stars'. His first performance will be on Tuesday April 15th, 2008 and he is scheduled to run until Sunday, September 7, 2008. As of Tuesday July 10, the weekly performance schedule for A Chorus Line will be as follows: Tuesday at 7:00pm, Wednesday through Saturday evenings at 8:00pm, with matinee performances on Wednesday and Saturday at 2:00pm and Sunday at 3:00pm.
