Tony Award-winner Terry Johnson's INSIGNIFICANCE, presented by the acclaimed UK-based theater company Defibrillator, opens tonight, February 24, 2016 for a strictly limited engagement through March 20, 2016. The play, which takes place in a hotel room in 1953, is staged entirely within a hotel room on the fifth floor of the five-star hotel Langham Place, New York, Fifth Avenue. It's official! The first UK staging of STRICTLY BALLROOM THE MUSICAL - based on the much loved film that inspired the world to dance - is to premiere at West Yorkshire Playhouse, Leeds, on Wednesday 30 November 2016, playing a season through until Saturday 21 January 2017 (Press Night: Tuesday 6 December at 7.30pm).

Palo Alto Players, the Peninsula's first theatre company, announces its 86th season - 'From Stage to Screen and Back Again' - featuring a collection of plays and musicals whose time-honored stories have been theatrical hits both on stage and in film. The 2016-17 line-up, beginning September 2016, was unveiled Saturday, January 30 by Artistic Director Patrick Klein and Managing Director Diana Lynn Berenstein at the company's annual Season Announcement Party and includes Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID; THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK; A DAY IN HOLLYWOOD, A NIGHT IN THE UKRAINE; Monty Python's SPAMALOT and THE GRADUATE. All performances are held at the Lucie Stern Theater located at 1305 Middlefield Road in Palo Alto. Subscriptions are on sale now online at www.paplayers.org or by phone at 650.329.0891. Individual tickets for the September show go on sale in August and for the remaining season beginning in October.

Dominic Cooper returns to the stage this year to play debauched 17th Century rake the Earl of Rochester in The Libertine.  This sexually charged masterpiece by award-winning playwright Stephen Jeffreys will play a limited run as part of the 2016 summer season at Bath Theatre Royal from 31 August to 17 September prior to the West End's Theatre Royal Haymarket from 22 September to 3 December with opening night for press on 27 September.

New Artistic Director of Theatr Clywd Tamara Harvey today announces her inaugural theatre season for the company.

World renown British actor/playwright Ray Cooney will be performing the zany farce Cash on Delivery, written by his son Michael Cooney, on the mainstage of the El Portal in Noho December 3-20.  Cooney performed Out of Order at the El Portal in 2001, and was a tremendous hit. In our conversation Cooney, who was bestowed the honor of OBE (Order of the British Empire) by the Queen, and wife Linda talk about the play, and among other topics, theatre and its importance in our world right now. Linda is a landscape painter and former actress, and her work will be exhibited in the El Portal lobby during the run of the play and on to January 1, 2016.
