General/Artistic Director Pelham 'Pat' Pearce announces Central City Opera's (CCO) 2014 Summer Festival, running today, June 28 through August 13, 2014, featuring Mozart's beloved opera, The Marriage of Figaro; Jake Heggie's opera Dead Man Walking, based on the true story and famous book written by Sister Helen Prejean about her relationship with Lousiana death row inmate Joseph De Rocher which was also an award-winning movie; and Rodgers and Hammerstein II's glorious musical The Sound of Music performed in Denver at the Buell Theatre in the Denver Performing Arts Complex.

Following four successful years as The Pearl Theatre Company's Artistic Director, J.R. Sullivan has decided to step down on July 19th. Sullivan will relocate his career base to Chicago, where he will be getting married this fall, and will return to freelance directing, as well as writing and teaching. The Pearl's Board of Trustees has accepted Sullivan's decision with regret and has launched a search for a new Artistic Director to lead the Company into its fourth decade. Longtime Pearl staff member and dramaturg Kate Farrington has been appointed Interim Artistic Director.

The Pasadena Playhouse's final presentation of its 2012 - 2013 HOTHOUSE at The Playhouse series is THE FUTURE PERFECT. Book by Jonathan Caren, music & lyrics by Emmy Award-winning composer and songwriter Ben Decter, directed by Tony Award nominated (for Rock of Ages) Kristin Hanggi with musical direction by Kyle Puccia. The staged reading will take place tonight, June 25, and Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at 8:00 p.m. in the Carrie Hamilton Theatre at The Pasadena Playhouse.

Seth Rudetsky's and Patti LuPone's encore at the Leicester Square Theatre sent audiences into a frenzy Thursday night, June 20. Patti and Seth performed 'With One Look', marking the second time last week that LuPone had sung the number since her final performance of Sunset Boulevard in London in 1994. Today marks the 110th Birthday of Broadway legend Al Hirschfeld and the Al Hirschfeld Foundation announced that the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts will present a new exhibition on the artist this Fall. Additionally, the New York Historical Society will feature pieces from the collection in 2015.

Tonight, June 22 at 8:30pm and Sunday, June 23 at 4pm, Caramoor kicks off the 68th Summer Festival with its first ever Broadway production, She Loves Me. Joining the cast will be John Cullum, Ryan Silverman, Brad Oscar, Etai BenShlomo and Jonathan Freeman. Michele Lynch will choreograph.

Performances will take place at 7:30 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, as well as 3:00 pm on Sunday. Tickets are $18 for Adults, $14 for senior citizens and children 12 and under. The Gallery Players will also host a 'Pay What You Can' night on Monday, July 22nd at 7:30 pm. According to a recent interview with ABC Classic FM, stage and screen star Angela Lansbury will return to Broadway in Fall 2013 in a revival of THE CHALK GARDEN. An official announcement has not yet been made. Lansbury revealed on the podcast: 'A rather exciting event coming up in the fall is a new production of The Chalk Garden by Enid Bagnold. It's a lovely play. Wonderful role, Mrs. St. [Maugham]. We're going to do that on Broadway- so if you're in New York, I hope you'll come and see it.'
