According to the Daily Mail, Seth Numrich, star of Broadway's War Horse and Golden Boy, will join Kim Cattrall in the Old Vic's production of Tennessee Williams' Sweet Bird of Youth, directed by Marianne Elliott (War Horse). The production is set to begin June 12.

Following its, critically acclaimed, sold-out run at Angel Island this winter, Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co. transfers its Jeff Recommended production of Tennessee Williams' classic THE GLASS MENAGERIE to Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont Ave., for an extended run May 23 - June 30, 2013. Directed by ensemble member Hans Fleischmann, who also stars as Tom, the remount features the full original cast, including Walter Briggs, Maggie Cain and Joanne Dubach. Category 7 in association with La Salle Academy and Nativity Mission announces the cast and creative team for Stand-Up Tragedy, Bill Cain's searing 1991 play about a Lower East Side middle school, where an idealistic young teacher sets out to save one of his students from an abusive family and the streets. Directed by Nicholas Minas, performances begin at Nativity Church (44 2nd Avenue - between 2nd & 3rd Streets) tonight, April 12, 2013 and will continue through May 4.

BAX | Brooklyn Arts Exchange has announced the 2013 Artist-In-Residence Year End Performances. Featuring BAX's Artists-In-Residence (AIR), these performances culminate a shared journey through the creative process. Audience members enjoy the rare opportunity to follow a work and engage its creators from the early stages through to full productions. This journey began with the Open Studio Series in November, continued with the Works-in Progress Series in January, and culminates in these Spring performances.

The Attic Theater Company will present the New York premiere of Tennessee Williams' THE NOTEBOOK OF TRIGORIN, directed by Laura Braza. Broadway/Hollywood crossover star Zachary Quinto was feted at the Dream Downtown last night in honor of his brand new cover for MANHATTAN Magazine and his recent co-stars from the lauded revival of the Tennessee Williams classic THE GLASS MENAGERIE showed their support - none other than theatre heavyweights Cherry Jones and Celia Keenan-Bolger.

The Award-Winning Epic Theatre Ensemble, now in their 12th year presents William Shakespeare's RICHARD III: Born With Teeth, part of Shakespeare for a New Generation, a national program of the National Endowment for the Arts in cooperation with Arts Midwest. The production, directed by Ron Russell, begins previews Off-Broadway on Tuesday, April 16th and opens Saturday, April 20th at 8:00 PM at the Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street). The play will run through May 4th.

Sundance Institute just presented playwright and Sundance Institute Theatre Lab alum Branden Jacobs-Jenkins with the first-ever Tennessee Williams Award from the Institute's Theatre Program, which supports the development of new work for the stage. Sundance Institute Emeritus Trustee Sally Field presented the honor and accompanying $10,000 grant at the Celebrate Sundance Institute benefit for its Theatre Program last night at Stephan Weiss Studio in Greenwich Village. This revealing comedy peers into the backstage lives of Broadway power-duo Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne and summers spent at their legendary Wisconsin estate, Ten Chimneys.

Hartford Stage, under the leadership of Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak and Managing Director Michael Stotts, today announced the cast of Abundance by Beth Henley, directed by Jenn Thompson, on stage from tonight, April 4 through April 28.

Ol' Blue Eyes is celebrated in style during this summer season of top-notch entertainment at the Spencer Theater, as are dancing pirates, Chinese acrobats, Swedish icons, three-part harmony greats. Rock & roll and country legends, New Mexico beauties, a classical star, child actors and world fusion musicians in the 16 event line-up at the award-winning Alto, New Mexico performance hall. Additionally, pre-performance lobby buffets are offered ($20) before most every show, allowing patrons to easily enjoy a hot meal before curtain time.

According to the New York Times, the show fell short of recouping its $3.6 million capitalization. The show's final week proved to be the strongest in ticket sales, bringing in $721,456.

Tony and three-time Emmy Award-winner Amanda Plummer will return to the New York stage after a 15-year absence, along with Academy Award-nominated actor Brad Dourif (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest) in the Off-Broadway premiere production of Tennessee Williams' rarely seen The Two-Character Play at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street). Previews begin Monday, June 10. Opening Night is set for June 19 at 8:00 p.m. Equal parts Southern Gothic thriller, black comedy and psychological drama, the work, written during a time of great personal strife, is abstractly based on Williams' close yet complicated relationship with his sister, Rose. Gene David Kirk directs.

Marin Theatre Company, in a co-production with Virginia Stage Company, stages the regional premiere of Matthew Lopez's Civil War drama The Whipping Man in Mill Valley from March 28 to April 21, 2013. MTC's artistic director Jasson Minadakis directs the production. Featuring popular Bay Area actors L. Peter Callender, Nicholas Pelczar and Tobie Windham, as well as the design team from MTC's 2011 San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award nominated production of Tennessee Williams's The Glass Menagerie, this co-production rehearsed and ran at VSC in Norfolk, Virginia, from February 26 to March 17, 2013, before tonight's move to MTC. Opening night at MTC is tonight, April 2.
