The British Academy of Film and Television Arts announced the nominations for the 2014 EE British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) and Gravity leads with 11 nominations, while 12 Years a Slave and American Hustle each received 10 nominations.

Live in Los Angeles, Wednesday, Jan. 8 (9:00-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network. Hosted by Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs, stars of the CBS comedy 2 BROKE GIRLS, the live show will feature previously announced performances by Sara Bareilles, OneRepublic and Brad Paisley.

The Smith Center for the Performing Arts presents the world premiere of THE TEMPEST, produced by the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at The Smith Center in Las Vegas April 5-13, 2014. The Smith Center's first ever co-production, THE TEMPEST is adapted and directed by Aaron Posner and Teller from the play by William Shakespeare, with magic by Teller, music by Tom Waits and movement by Matt Kent of Pilobolus. THE TEMPEST will perform at The Smith Center's Donald W. Reynolds Symphony Park in a 500-seat climate controlled tent before moving to Cambridge, MA to begin performances at A.R.T. Word Performances is a reading series of poetry, prose, fiction, memoir and comedy where words are the lead and music makes a cameo. The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, under the Artistic Direction of Diane Paulus, will present the last production of its 2013/14 Season, THE TEMPEST, adapted and directed by Aaron Posner and Teller from the play by William Shakespeare, with magic by Teller, music by Tom Waits, and movement by Matt Kent of Pilobolus Produced in association with The Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas, Nevada, the production will begin performances in Cambridge on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the Loeb Drama Center and run through Sunday, June 15, 2014. It will be available for press viewing from Wednesday, May 14 at 7:30pm.

Toronto – The Canadian Opera Company presents Verdi's opera of forbidden passion amid political turmoil, A Masked Ball (Un ballo in maschera). Sung in Italian with English SURTITLES, A Masked Ball comes to the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts for eight performances on February 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, 16, 20, 22, 2014.
