The Edge Theater presents their first musical, the regional premiere of 'Murder Ballad,' August 26 through September 25 at 1560 Teller Street in Lakewood. Performances are Fridays, Saturdays and Monday, September 12 at 8 p.m.; Sundays at 6 p.m. There will be dancing in the King's Club on Fridays and Saturdays after the show. How long does it take to cover the complex problems in the Congo, AKA the most dangerous place in the world? Adam Brace's play has a semi-joking educational sequence that attempts it in four and a half minutes - putting to bed the ubiquitous Um Bongo jingle - but the morass of conflicting information presents a dramatic problem that this witty, engaging but messily sprawling piece can't quite overcome.
