'Sweet & Hot' Gets Five Performance Extension, Now Closes 8/15

Five additional performances are added to the performance schedule of 'Sweet and Hot: The Songs of Harold Arlen,' produced by Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre in association with Michael James. Originally scheduled to close August 8, the show will now close August 15.

No Exit Cafe is being reconfigured to resemble a late 1940s/early 1950s neighborhood cabaret by Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre for its next show, "Sweet and Hot: The Songs of Harold Arlen," performed in association with Michael James, opening Sunday, June 20.

Cheyenne Jackson can't get enough of the small screen this week. Tomorrow, November 12, he makes his much anticipated debut appearance on 30 Rock, and will also appear on the Today Show with fellow songbird Michael Feinstein to promote their new album The Power of Two. He and Michael will be interviewed and perform a song off of the album. The segment, hosted by Kathie Lee and Hoda, airs at 10:30am EST on MSNBC.

When a cabaret show is promoted as containing 'an eclectic mix of style and sound,' I generally don't expect to hear 8, count 'em 8, Rodgers and Hart classics, but who am I to question Christian Hoff's good taste in music?  Though never officially announced, Hoff was to star in a proposed Broadway revival of Pal Joey, and though that project has been placed on hold, his one-night gig at The Metropolitan Room this past Monday night, titled 'Exiled,' often seemed like a preview of how he'd play the title role.
