Casting has been announced for the South Bend premiere engagement of the Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning hit musical JERSEY BOYS, the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, playing The Morris Performing Arts Center November 26 - December 8. The cast of JERSEY BOYS will be led byBrandon Andrus (Nick Massi), Nick Cosgrove (Frankie Valli), Nicolas Dromard (Tommy DeVito) and Jason Kappus (Bob Gaudio) as The Four Seasons, with Barry Anderson and Thomas Fiscella.
On Tuesday, November 12, 2013, Michael Tilson Thomas (MTT) and the San Francisco Symphony(SFS) will release a hybrid SACD recording and digital download of Beethoven's Cantata on the Death of Emperor Joseph II and Symphony No. 2 on SFS Media, the Orchestra's in-house label. The recording is part of MTT & the SFS' multi-season focus on performing and recording the music of Beethoven. It features the Grammy-award winning San Francisco Symphony Chorus, and soloists Sally Matthews, soprano; Tamara Mumford, mezzo-soprano; Barry Banks, tenor; and Andrew Foster-Williams, bass-baritone. The performance was recorded live at Davies Symphony Hall May 2-3, 2013 during Michael Tilson Thomas and the San Francisco Symphony's two-week festival exploring Beethoven's early inspirations. The recording of Beethoven's Cantata on the Death of Emperor Joseph II and Symphony No. 2 can be pre-ordered on iTunes at itunes.com/sfsymphony and on SACD from the San Francisco Symphony Store at sfsymphony.org/store. Chanhassen Dinner Theatres (CDT) presents FIDDLER ON THE ROOF on the Main Stage for the first time in 20 years. FIDDLER ON THE ROOF last graced the Main Stage in 1993 to mark Chanhassen's 25th anniversary. This time around, the theatres' most widely requested show will mark CDT's 45th anniversary. Ballet San Jose Artistic Director Jose Manuel Carreño has announced updates to the Company's November 16 all-star gala. Members of Ballet San Jose and Ballet San Jose School will be joined on stage by an impressive lineup of guest artists for the benefit evening, beginning at 5 pm with cocktails and dinner, followed by an 8 pm performance and VIP post-performance party, all at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts.
Tony Robinson will star as Kenneth Grahame, who narrates the Royal Opera House's production of The Wind in the Willows, in the ROH's first commercial transfer to London's West End. This well-loved story is brought to life through song, music, dance and puppetry. The production, directed and choreographed by Will Tuckett, will run at the Duchess Theatre from Wednesday 11 December 2013 – Saturday 1 February 2014
