Angel City Chorale has been invited by Archbishop Desmond Tutu to participate in a special fundraising event in South Africa in late 2011.

Angel City Chorale (ACC) is delighted to announce its 17th annual Spring concert 'Earth: Live! -- Songs For The Blue Planet' on Saturday, June 5 & Sunday, June 6 at 7:30pm at Wilshire United Methodist Church in Hancock Park. Deemed 'one of the most engaging and entertaining evenings of music you can hear in Los Angeles ' by acclaimed musician T-Bone Burnett, ACC promises to deliver one of its most dynamic Spring concerts ever! This year's concert features a mix of American classics including folk, gospel and contemporary - with choral versions of Michael Jackson's 'Man in the Mirror,' Joni Mitchell's 'Big Yellow Taxi' and Toto's 'Africa.' In addition to these more contemporary pieces, ACC will also perform its usual demanding classical pieces to showcase the incredible talent and range of Los Angeles ' premier community choir.

Grammy-nominated Robert Randolph & The Family Band's highly anticipated new album We Walk This Road-the first since the band's acclaimed 2006 effort, Colorblind-is set for release this June on Warner Bros. Records.

Acclaimed Canadian musician Meaghan Smith will join Sarah McLachlan, Kelly Clarkson, Mary J. Blige and others on the 2010 Lilith Fair this summer. Smith will join the traveling celebration of women in music for shows at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in St. Louis on July 16th and First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre in Chicago on July 17th in the U.S., as well as the Bell Center in Montreal, QC on July 23rd in Canada.

The Jewish Museum's SummerNights program returns, presenting live world music in a concert setting on three Thursdays in July. Margot Leverett and the Klezmer Mountain Boys kick off SummerNights on July 1 followed by Ansambl Mastika on July 8, and The Sexteto Rodriguez Cuban-Jewish All Stars on July 15. The Jewish Museum is located at Fifth Avenue at 92nd Street, Manhattan. Each concert begins at 7:30 pm. Oscar-winning producer/writer/director Oliver Stone and Bruce Wagner have entered into a development deal with EPIX it was announced today. Their first project will be a one hour scripted dramatic series, 'Still Holding,' based on the iconoclastic Wagner's critically acclaimed novel of the same name. The series will explore the colliding worlds of three disparate people in Los Angeles, and the violent consequences of love and betrayal, of holding on and letting go. Stone and Wagner will serve as executive producers. They previously worked together on the mini-series 'Wild Palms.'

Film Independent, the non-profit arts organization that produces the Spirit Awards and the Los Angeles Film Festival, announced nominations this morning for the 25th Film Independent Spirit Awards. Nominees for Best Feature include (500) Days Of Summer, Amreeka, Precious, Sin Nombre and The Last Station. Taraji P. Henson and Matt Dillon also announced finalists for the Acura Someone to Watch Award, the Truer Than Fiction Award, and the Piaget Producers Award. A Serious Man was selected for the Robert Altman Award, which is given to one film's director, casting director and ensemble cast.

Variety reports today that Liv Ullmann is confirmed to direct the John Mellencamp/Stephen King musical, The Ghost Brothers of Darkland County. The Swedish actress-director, who most recently made headlines for her direction of the Kate Blanchett-led A Streetcar Names Desire at BAM and The Kennedy Center, announced her participation in Darkland County on a Swedish radio broadcast.

'The Hurt Locker' won Best Picture and the film's director Kathryn Bigelow took home the award for Best Director. Jeff Bridges took home the Oscar for Best Actor for his work in 'Crazy Heart', Sandra Bullock won Best Actress for 'The Blind Side', Christoph Waltz took home Best Supporting Actor for 'Inglourious Basterds' and Mo'Niqe garnered the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in 'Precious'.

Comedian Eddie Izzard will host the 25th Annual Film Independent Spirit Awards, Film Independent has announced. The awards will take place the night of March 5th at LA Live's event deck in Los Angeles. Film Independent said of the comedian, 'Izzard's tangential, absurd, bizarre, and surreal comic narratives are lauded for their creativity and wit, which suits the irreverent, laid-back style of the Spirit Awards.'
