In honor of the 50th anniversary of Nostra Aetate and Pope Francis' visit to the United States, Salon/Sanctuary Concerts explores the cross-fertilization of Jewish and Catholic musical cultures that enriched the music of both Synagogue and Sanctuary.

Judith Kalaora, Founder and Artistic Director of History At Play, has garnered nationwide attention for her one-woman, living history performances, chronicling the lives of legendary women who changed society.  Her breakout performance in A REVOLUTION OF HER OWN has received accolades from journalists, actors, and historians alike and has earned national recognition, as the performance is an Official Selection of the 2015 United Solo Theatre Festival.  The performance, one night only, will debut Saturday October 3, at 6:00PM, at Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd Street, New York City.

Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) Director Raye Lynn Mercer will lead a How to Audition Workshop today, September 26 from 3-4:30 p.m. in the school's Recital Hall at 38 Main Street in downtown Franklin. The workshop is open to the community.

Staged by the Department of Drama (SU Drama) in Syracuse University's College of Visual and Performing Arts (SU: VPA), Kiss Me, Kate performs October 2-10 in the Archbold Theater at the Syracuse Stage/Drama Theater Complex, 820 East Genesee Street. Valley Performing Arts Center is partnering with Ford Signature Series to present L'Espace du Tempsperformed by DIAVOLO | Architecture in Motion, choreographed by the company under the direction of DIAVOLO Artistic Director Jacques Heim. Now in its third year, the Ford Signature Series pairs LA County artists with world-renowned performers in one-of-a-kind presentations.

Tickets for all shows in Syracuse Stage's 2015/16 Season will be available for purchase starting at midnight on September 21. For select performances, pre- and post- show events will be offered free for ticket holders. Events include opening night parties, live music, happy hours, discussions, and more.

SU Drama's 2015/16 season features six productions, including three musicals, starting in October with the Cole Porter classic Kiss Me, Kate. Second in the season is Agamemnon, the haunting Greek classic, followed by a co-production with Syracuse Stage, Peter Pan. After winter break, the season continues with Punk Rock and the country-flavored musical The Spitfire Grill. Closing the season in May is the comedy A Flea in Her Ear.

The Bank of America Children's Tour, New Kid, hits the road today, September 17, to begin a run of performances at schools throughout the Central New York region. Over 9,000 students in 23 schools across a five county region will see the production running now through December 10.

The Old Globe opens its 2015-2016 Season with IN YOUR ARMS, a World Premiere dance-theatre musical featuring direction and choreography by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli (Newsies, Godspell, Lincoln Center Theater's The King and I and South Pacific) and original music by Tony Award winner Stephen Flaherty (Ragtime, Once on This Island; two-time Oscar nominee for Anastasia). The production begins tonight, September 16, with an opening slated for September 24, and runs through October 25, 2015.

ProLiteracy announced today that a pioneer in adult literacy education and New Readers Press founder, Dr. Robert S. Laubach (Dr. Bob) passed away peacefully on Friday, September 11 at the age of 96.

THE BLACK BOOK, a mystery thriller that challenges you to 'read between the minds,' will premiere Off-Broadway and open Sunday, September 13th at the American Theatre of Actors (314 W 54th St).
