Temple Theaters presents The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum of Charenton Under the Direction of the Marquis de Sade, commonly called Marat/Sade by Peter Weiss. Directed by Donna Snow, this twentieth-century masterpiece is a deep examination of human suffering and class struggle that still resonates today. With twenty-three graduate and undergraduate actors and a score of lively music, the drama will run November 9 - 19 in Temple University's intimate Randall Theater.

Porchlight Music Theatre and Artistic Director Michael Weber are proud to announce the 2016 - 2017 season of Chicago's hit musical revue series, New Faces Sing returning to Uptown Underground, 4707 N. A valuable attribute of theatre is its ability to tackle difficult material in surprising and even entertaining ways. Artists, playwrights, directors and actors, as artists, must be willing to reflect life as it is-good and bad-while simultaneously satisfying the need to hold an audience's attention. The never-before-produced play Laura and the Sea, which begins performances in the Syracuse University Department of Drama's Storch Theatre on Nov. 4, is a prime example.

New Freedom Theatre is pleased to announce the appointment of Rajendra Ramoon Maharaj as its new Artistic Director.  Maharaj, who had served as Guest Artistic Director last season, is only the fourth full-time artistic director in the company's fifty year history, following foundr John E. Syracuse Stage opened its 44th season with Gale Childs Daly's adaptation of Charles Dickens' masterpiece GREAT EXPECTATIONS, brilliantly directed by Michael Bloom. The production is humorous, fast-paced, and very easy to follow regardless of familiarity with the novel.
