The New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players, America's preeminent professional Gilbert & Sullivan repertory company, launches its G&S Fest 2013-14, presenting iconic classic productions of The Pirates of Penzance and Patience when the company returns to Symphony Space (2537 Broadway at 95th Street) on December 27th for a strictly limited engagement through January 5th! Songs for a Traveler, the new album from The Looking, turns American folk classics and old country songs such as like 'Wayfaring Stranger,' '900 Miles,' 'River in the Pines,' and 'Blue River' into solid alt-pop rock. This third album from The Looking were released on June 11, 2013, with a release show at The Rockwood on July 7th. The Looking will be playing Joe's Pub this month on August 23.

The Young Dancemakers Company, led by Bessie Award winner Alice Teirstein, creates and performs original works of choreography in a one of a kind program for NYC high school students.

On Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 8:00 p.m., Maria Muldaur and The Campbell Brothers perform together for the first time at the Skirball Cultural Center as part of this year's Sunset Concerts. Best known for her Grammy-winning mega-hit "Midnight at the Oasis," Muldaur teams up with guitarists Chuck and Darick Campbell, as well as a dynamic rhythm section led by Phil and Carlton Campbell, for a world premiere collaboration combining traditional blues, African-American gospel, and The Campbell Brothers' signature steel guitars.

TAKE Dance, the New York City-based contemporary dance troupe led by Artistic Director/Founder Takehiro Ueyama, presents DARK MOURNING - two nights of world premiere works on Friday, September 27th& Saturday, September 28th at NYC's Peter Norton Symphony Space. On Sunday 15th September, as part of the St James' Studio Cabaret Weekends, Jonathan Reid Gealt will be in concert showcasing his new album "Here For You - Ballads for Broadway Impact". Produced by ILIADebuts in association with Theatre Bench, the concert will include songs from his new album as well as "Thirteen Stories Down" and exclusives from his new musical "Dust and Shadow".

Louis Armstrong House Museum welcomes Peter & Will Anderson Sextet, one of NYC's hottest jazz bands, to Louis's house on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 2pm. It is rumored that family music icon Recess Monkey recorded its tenth studio CD, Desert Island Disc, while shipwrecked on the beach of a distant island. The band's spokesmonkey has refused to either confirm or deny these tales but has indicated that legions of fans will soon be able to judge for themselves.

New York City Center is celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Fall for Dance Festival with a very special season, beginning with two free evenings of dance at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, hosted by The Public Theater, on September 16 and 17 (rain date, September 18). The Festival will continue at City Center from September 25 - October 5 with performances by 20 acclaimed dance companies and artists from around the world, including three new works from today's most exciting young choreographers, commissioned by New York City Center in celebration of the tenth anniversary.

The distinguished American pianist Ursula Oppens will perform Faure's Piano Quintet No. 1 in D Minor with the Cassatt Quartet at Music Mountain on Sunday afternoon, August 25th, at 3:00 p.m. at Gordon Hall, 225 Music Mountain Rd., Falls Village, CT. The program will also include works by Shostakovich and Beethoven.
