The Anchorage Concert Association has announced its 2010-2011 season. Events include stops by the national tours of MAMMA MIA! and AVENUE Q, as well as performances by various artists including Bill Cosby, Suzanne Vega, the Blue Man Group, and and Branford Marsalis and Terence Blanchard.
Day one of the Isle of Wight Festival 2010 was held June 11, 2010 at Seaclose Park in Newport, Isle of Wight. The festival, now in it's ninth year after being reincarnated in 2002 is attended by 50,000 music fans, which features headline acts Jay Z, The Strokes and Sir Paul McCartney.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater today announced its roster of plays for 2010-2011, the award-winning company's 16th season. Three luminaries of the music, news and sports broadcasting professions will be honored in New York City on May 5 at WFUV Radio's Annual Gala 2010. Legendary singer, musician and multiple Grammy-winner Levon Helm will receive the WFUV Sound & Vision Award; Baseball Hall of Fame member Ernie Harwell, longtime broadcaster for the Detroit Tigers, will receive the Vin Scully Lifetime Achievement Award in Sports Broadcasting; and Bob Schieffer, the seven-time Emmy Award-winning television journalist, will receive the Charles Osgood Lifetime Achievement Award in Broadcast Journalism. New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg will attend and offer comments.
The Cornelia Street Cafe will be featuring the Jason Rigby Quintet today, April 23. The Sage Quintet is a powerhouse ensemble formed to explore group improvisation with the twists and turns of a two-horn front line mixed with the dynamic sound of the Fender Rhodes electric piano. The band was formed conceptually out of the influences of Miles' 70's electric bands, Ornette Coleman's explorations with Don Cherry and Dewey Redman, and Jack DeJohnette's mid-70's work - all culminating in a modern mixture of grooves, free melodies, psychedelic sounds, and angular horn lines.

In May 1977 three artists--Robin Hirsch, a writer and director; Charles McKenna, an actor; and Raphaela Pivetta, a visual artist--stumbled across a tiny storefront on Cornelia Street in the heart of Greenwich Village and thought it the perfect place to open a café.
Laurie Anderson, Joan Osborne and Suzanne Vega received Women's Project's 2010 Women of Achievement Award March 8. The 32-year-old theater company dedicated to producing the work of female theater artists made the awards last night on International Women's Day at Women's Project's home, the Julia Miles Theater, 424West 55th Street.
The Women's Project will welcome Laurie Anderson, Joan Osborne, and Suzanne Vega in a one-night-only engagement concert in their Julia Miles Theater. The concert is intended to raise funds for the organization and will take place on March 8.
Producer David Shor, who is developing Sleepless in Seattle:The Musical for Broadway, announced today that Michelle Citrin, Michael Garin, and Josh Nelson will collaborate on the music and lyrics for the show. The musical is aiming for a Broadway bow on Valentine's Day, 2011.
