Daniel Dreifuss, John Ainsworth & More to Teach at YOUNG ACTORS' THEATRE CAMP, 12/28-/3

Students at the Young Actors' Theatre Camp (YATC) will be acting, singing and dancing their way through their winter holiday break as stars from stage and screen come to teach students attending the Young Actors' Theatre Camp, taking place December 28, 2013 - January 3, 2014. Teachers scheduled for the Winter Camp include: John Ainsworth ('American Horror Story'), Daniel Dreifuss (Oscar-nominated producer, 'No'), Emmy Frevele (Los Angeles-based choreographer), Sarah Gaboury ('Parks and Recreation'), Kevin Kent (Emcee from Teatro Zinzanni), Matt Pittenger ('Community'), Meghan Rienks (YouTube sensation; former YATC camper), Shawn Ryan ('The Mentalist,' 'America's Got Talent') and cast members from The Book of Mormon, currently playing at San Francisco's Orpheum Theatre. Broadway-Bound VIOLET Will Be 'Retooled' One-Act Version

Composer Jeanine Tesori just revealed in an interview with Variety that the upcoming Broadway production will be the one-act, 'retooled and trimmed' version that was presented at Encores in summer 2013. The changes made for that presentation will be 'retained and honed.'

Tony Winner Alice Ripley Set for Broadway @ NOCCA Series, 1/6

Alice Ripley won a Tony Award for her leading role in the Pulitzer Prize winning musical "Next to Normal," and was a Tony-nominee for the musical "Sideshow" on Broadway. This January, she joins the star-studded lineup of the celebrated Broadway at NOCCA series, on January 6, 2014 at 7:00 PM for one show only. Jessica Means joins her at piano. Off-Broadway's DISASTER! Will Offer Thursday Evening Performances Beginning in January

Presented by Mary J. Davis, DISASTER! is the hilarious, acclaimed 1970s disaster movie musical now playing Off-Broadway at the St. Luke's Theatre (308 W. 46th Street). DISASTER! is written by Seth Rudetsky and Jack Plotnick, directed by Mr. Plotnick, and has choreography by Denis Jones. A send-up of the 1970s disaster movie genre, DISASTER! features some of the best songs of the 1970s, including 'Hot Stuff,' 'Don't Bring Me Down,' 'I Am Woman,' 'Alone Again Naturally,' 'Signed Sealed Delivered,' 'Knock On Wood,' 'Daybreak' 'Sky High,' and more.

Ghostlight to Release MURDER FOR TWO Cast Recording on 1/14

The original cast recording of MURDER FOR TWO, the hit new musical comedy starring Jeff Blumenkrantz and Brett Ryback, will be released digitally on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 by Ghostlight Records. Produced by Joel Moss and executive produced by Kurt Deutsch, the album will be available in stores and everywhere music is sold on Tuesday, February 11, 2014. Roundabout's BAD JEWS Begins Final Three Weeks; Closes 12/29

Celebrate this holiday season with the cast of Bad Jews! Roundabout Theatre Company's (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) production of Bad Jews, by Joshua Harmon, will conclude its limited engagement on Sunday, December 29 at 2:00PM. Bad Jewsis directed by Daniel Aukin and features Tracee Chimo, Philip Ettinger, Molly Ranson and Michael Zegen.

Martin Charnin to Receive Inaugural ASCAP Foundation's George M. Cohan Award

The ASCAP Foundation will honor Tony Award-winning lyricist and director of Annie Martin Charnin with the first-ever ASCAP Foundation George M. Cohan Award at their 18th annual Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, December 11th, 2013. The invitation-only event, hosted by ASCAP Foundation President Paul Williams, will be held at the Allen Room, Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City.

BWW Interviews: Garth Kravits Talks about Bucks County Playhouse's MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS: A RADIO PLAY

This year the holiday show at Bucks County Playhouse is MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS: A RADIO PLAY. They are keeping with the tradition of performing a holiday themed radio play where the audience plays the part of a live studio audience of the radio show. MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS: A RADIO PLAY is based on the 1944 movie-musical of the same name that starred Judy Garland and Margaret O'Brien. We had a chance to speak with one of the actors in the show at Bucks County Playhouse, Garth Kravits, about the musical, growing up in a theatre family and the importance of the arts to the community.
