Leslie Jordan's MY TRIP DOWN THE PINK CARPET Opens 4/19

Lily Tomlin and Jane Wagner are helping make Times Square a little pinker - and all of New York City, in fact - as they present actor Leslie Jordan in his acclaimed solo show, My Trip Down The Pink Carpet, at the Midtown Theater (163 West 46th Street) this Spring.

Inside Park at St. Bart's Hosts Lucille Lortel Nominees Reception, 4/19

As the clock ticks ever closer to the 25th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards on May 2nd, the yearly tradition of a fête to celebrate the year's nominees will be held on April 19th, 2010, at 5 PM, hosted and generously donated in part by Inside Park at St. Bart's, 325 Park Avenue at 50th Street.

Kander and Ebb's THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS Ends Run April 18

The Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15 Street) will end its run of the world-premiere of THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS on April 18. THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS was previously scheduled to run through April 4.

This production marks the Fairfield County professional debut of one of the most celebrated plays of our generation. Tix For Adam Rapp's THE METAL CHILDREN Now On Sale at The Vineyard Theatre

Tickets to the Vineyard Theatre's world-premiere production of THE METAL CHILDREN, written and directed by Adam Rapp, will go on sale on Thursday, April 15 prior to the beginning of previews on May 5 and the official opening on May 19 of the play at the Vineyard (108 E. 15 St.) in Manhattan.

Full Cast Announced For PARADISE FOUND, Joining Patinkin, Opel, Hensley

Harold Prince and Susan Stroman will direct an all-American cast in the world premiere of Paradise Found at the Menier Chocolate Factory. Based on the novel The Tale of the 1002nd Night by Viennese author Joseph Roth, Paradise Found previews from 19 May. With music by Johann Strauss II, adapted and arranged by Jonathan Tunick, Paradise Found has book by Richard Nelson and lyrics by Ellen Fitzhugh. The production will run until 26 June. Set design is by Beowulf Boritt, with costumes designed by Judy Dolan, lighting by Howell Binkley and sound by Gareth Owen.

Vineyard Theatre announces Winner of Paula Vogel Playwriting Award

The Vineyard Theatre will present its 3rd annual Paula Vogel Playwriting Award to emerging playwright Kara Lee Corthron - whose plays include HOLLY DOWN IN HEAVEN, which received a workshop production at the Vineyard, and the forthcoming ETCHED IN SKIN ON A SUNLESS NIGHT -- it has been announced by Vineyard Theater's Artistic Director Douglas Aibel and Associate Artistic Director Sarah Stern.

YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN Comes To The Golden Gate Theatre 6/30-7/25

The hilarious, new musical comedy, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, based on the Oscar-nominated smash hit 1974 film, is the wickedly inspired re-imagining of the Mary Shelley classic from the comic genius of Mel Brooks. Tony Award winners Roger Bart and Shuler Hensley reprise the roles of Dr. Frederick Frankenstein and The Monster in this hilarious new monster musical playing the Golden Gate Theatre June 30 - July 25, 2010.

Review: 'Youg Frankenstein' National Tour at Princess of Wales Theatre

The Gene Wilder screenplay becomes the unsatisfactory basis for a failed Broadway musical. The star performance of Roger Bart goes a long way to making the performance endurable, but the show is far cry from being any kind of musical theatre classic. * * (out of 5)
