Craig Bierko Joins Cast of MATILDA Tonight as 'Miss Trunchbull'

Craig Bierko will begin performances tonight in the role of Miss Trunchbull in MATILDA THE MUSICAL at Broadway's Shubert Theatre. Bierko was originally scheduled to begin on September 3, but a minor injury caused a delay. Since Tony nominee Bertie Carvel departed on September 1, the role was played by Chris Hoch.

Tony Nominee Andrew Lippa to Make London Concert Debut at St. James Theatre, 17 Nov.

Tony and Grammy award nominated composer and lyricist of Broadway's Big Fish, The Wild Party and The Addams Family, Andrew Lippa, comes to London for the first time this November with a host of special guests. Appearing at the St. James Theatre on 17 November, Andrew will be joined by performers from Broadway, the West End and further afield as he takes the audience on a journey through his life and career as a writer and composer. The concert will exclusively preview music from his latest Broadway creation Big Fish - a new musical adaptation based on the book by Daniel Wallace and the Tim Burton film (currently previewing at the Neil Simon Theatre, directed and choreographed by Susan Stroman) - and will also feature music from his hit shows, as well as his lesser known works and a selection of 'lost' material.

NYC Ballet Principal Dancer, Tiler Peck, to Play 'Little Dancer' at Kennedy Center, Oct 2014

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced partial casting for its world premiere musical production of Little Dancer. Four-time Tony Award winner Boyd Gaines will play Edgar Degas, three-time Tony Award nominee Rebecca Luker will play Adult Marie von Goethem, and New York City Ballet principal dancerTiler Peck will play Young Marie von Goethem.

The Young Vic and Catherine Schreiber present the UK premiere of The Scottsboro Boys, directed by five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman. The production stars original Broadway cast members Colman Domingo, who reprises his Tony Award nominated role of Mr. Bones, and Forrest McClendon, who plays Mr. Tambo. BIG FISH Announces Student Rush Policy

Directed by five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman, with music and lyrics by Grammy and Tony Award nominee Andrew Lippa, and a book by Grammy and BAFTA Award nominee John August, BIG FISH begins performances on Broadway tonight, Thursday, September 5, 2013 and will open Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 West 52nd Street). A limited number of student rush tickets will be available when the box office opens (10am Monday through Saturday) for that day's performance(s). Tickets are $27 (inclusive of a $2 facility fee) and are only available in person at the Neil Simon box office. You must present a valid student ID. Limit two tickets per person.

Zach Braff In First BULLETS OVER BROADWAY Promo

The first promotional spot for the new screen-to-stage adaptation of Woody Allen's Academy Award-winning comedy BULLETS OVER BROADWAY has been released, showcasing the musical's star, popular film and TV personality Zach Braff.

Julian Cihi to Join Elizabeth Olsen in Classic Stage's ROMEO & JULIET; Daniel Davis Replaces William Hurt

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, announced complete casting today for its upcoming production of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet starring Elizabeth Olsen as Juliet. Julian Cihi has been cast as Romeo. Daniel Davis replacesWilliam Hurt as Friar Laurence. Hurt has withdrawn from the production for personal reasons. Previously announced Emmy Award nominee T.R. Knight(Mercutio) and Tony Award nominee Daphne Rubin-Vega (Nurse) will be joined by McKinley Belcher III (Benvolio), Stan Demidoff (Paris/Sampson),Harry Ford (Gregory, Friar John, Watchman), David Garrison (Capulet), Anthony Michael Martinez (Prince), Kathryn Meisle (Lady Capulet), Dion Mucciacito (Tybalt) and John Rothman (Montague/Apothecary). CSC's Romeo & Juliet, which begins performances Friday, September 27, will be directed byTea Alagi? (Jackie). Set design is by Marsha Ginsberg; costumes by Clint Ramos, lighting by Jason Lyons and sound by Ryan Rumery. The official opening night is Wednesday, October 16. Romeo & Juliet will play a limited engagement through Sunday, November 3. Tickets will go on sale Wednesday, September 4 at 12pm.

Craig Bierko and Jill Paice Join Broadway's MATILDA Today

The Tony Award winning Matilda the Musical welcomes today, September 3, Craig Bierko and Jill Paice to the company as Miss Trunchbull and Miss Honey, respectively. Bertie Carvel and Lauren Ward played their final performances in those roles on September 1.

Producers Letty Aronson and Julian Schlossberg just announced that tickets for the world premiere production of BULLETS OVER BROADWAY, the new musical written byWoody Allen based on the screenplay by Allen and Douglas McGrath of the 1994 film, and directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Susan Stroman, will go on sale thisSaturday, August 31, 2013.

SHIDA Ends Limited Off-Broadway Engagement Today

The new musical SHIDA, written and performed by Jeannette Bayardelle -- whose Broadway appearances include leading roles in THE COLOR PURPLE and HAIR - will end its strictly limited engagement today, Wednesday, August 28 with the 8pm performance. SHIDA will have played 12 previews and 36 regular performances.
