Julie Pappas Smith to Guest Teach at Marblehead School of Ballet

Broadway performer, Julie Pappas Smith, a North Shore native, returns to the Marblehead School of Ballet (MSB) in Marblehead, Massachusetts this summer to teach two master classes, floor-barre and musical theatre jazz.  Originally from Swampscott, Massachusetts, Pappas Smith began her professional training at MSB.

BWW Review: AND THE WORLD GOES 'ROUND Sparkles With Selections by Kander and Ebb

From Cabaret to Chicago, the non-stop hit-parade features unforgettable gems including 'Mr. Cellophane,' 'Maybe this Time,' 'Cabaret' and 'New York, New York', all seamlessly interwoven into a passionate, harmonious, up-tempo evening of musical theatre now onstage at Theatre Palisades, directed and choreographed by Victoria Miller with musical direction by Joshua Eli Kranz who also appears onstage accompanying the singers on a lusciously rich-sounding grand piano along with Anthony Barbarotta on drums and percussion. And thanks to Kranz's musical direction, the singers harmonize beautifully throughout the production.

The production will play from October 23-November 22, 2015 at Tokyu Theatre Orb in Tokyo, Japan and November 28-December 10, 2015 at Umeda Arts Theater, Main Hall, in Osaka, Japan. Marblehead School of Ballet's Summer Session Kicks Off Next Week

Dance, exercise and have fun this summer at the North Shore's Marblehead School of Ballet (MSB) in Marblehead, Massachusetts.  This cultural hub has a full line-up of enriching classes that will appeal to people of all ages.  The new session runs from June 22 to August 15.  Visitors and tourists to the North Shore are welcome to attend and take an open class.

Debbie Kurup & Oliver Tompsett to Lead Kander & Ebb Revue at the Pheasantry

West End stars and esteemed musical theatre concert artists Oliver Tompsett (Wicked, We Will Rock You) and Debbie Kurup (Chicago, The Bodyguard) will headline a brand new British production of The World Goes Round: The Songs of Kander & Ebb, which will play a limited run of four nights only from Sunday 5th to Wednesday 8th July 2015 at the Pheasantry in Chelsea .

Young Vic's Acclaimed Revival of A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE Will Bow on Broadway This Fall

Direct from two completely sold-out engagements in London, producers Scott Rudin and Lincoln Center Theater will bring the Young Vic's critically-acclaimed production of Arthur Miller's A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE to Broadway this fall.  The production, which swept the 2015 Olivier Awards — winning for Best Revival, Best Director, and Best Actor (Mark Strong) —will begin previews Wednesday evening, October 21 and open on Thursday, November 12 at the Lyceum Theatre, 149 West 45 Street.  A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE will play an 18-week limited engagement through Sunday, February 21, 2016.

Betsy Wolfe & Matt Bittner to Lead World Premiere of New Robert Lopez & Kristen Anderson-Lopez Musical UP HERE at La Jolla Playhouse

La Jolla Playhouse announces the cast and creative team for its world premiere of Up Here, a new musical comedy featuring book, music and lyrics by the husband-and-wife composing team of Robert Lopez (The Book of Mormon, Avenue Q) and Kristen Anderson-Lopez (In Transit), recipients of the 2014 Academy Award for Best Original Song for their hit song, 'Let It Go,' from the Disney animated film Frozen. Up Here is directed by Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers (Broadway's Rocky, Off-Broadway's Here Lies Love, Playhouse's Peter and the Starcatcher) and will run July 28 - September 6 in the Playhouse's Mandell Weiss Theatre. Up Here is being presented by special arrangement with Scott Sanders Theatrical Productions, along with Victor Alvarez, Warner/Chappell Music, Sally Horchow International Productions, Caiola Productions, Dominion Pictures.

Ego Actus to Present I KNOW WHAT BOYS WANT

Ego Actus will present the World Premiere of Penny Jackson's dark comedy I KNOW WHAT BOYS WANT at Theatre Row's Lion Theatre, 410 West 42nd Street, NYC, beginning performances on July 16th, opening July 18th at 8 PM and continuing through August 2nd. The Equity production will be directed by Joan Kane with scene design by David Goldstein, costumes by Caitlin Cisek, lights by Dennis Parichy, sound by Andy Evan Cohen, projections by Jim Marlow. The Stage Manager is Tyler Winthrop.
