Scott Weinstein makes his Marriott Theatre directorial debut, joined by Musical Director Ryan T. Nelson, with a modern spin on the classic Hans Christian Andersen fairytale. An imaginative story for all ages, THE PRINCESS AND THE PEA is a celebration of everlasting love and staying true to oneself no matter what the circumstances. A Question & Answer session with the cast will follow the one-hour presentation.

Follow the yellow brick road to The Marriott Theatre for Young Audiences, 10 Marriott Drive in Lincolnshire, for the enchanting musical production of THE WIZARD OF OZ, running from November 7, 2014 through January 4, 2015, with a press opening on Saturday, November 22 at 10AM. The Marriott Theatre for Young Audiences favorite Rachel Rockwell will direct and choreograph, with musical direction by Ryan T. Nelson. Based on the classic 1939 MGM movie, this special one-hour presentation of THE WIZARD OF OZ features the classic songs 'Follow the Yellow Brick Road,' 'Ding Dong the Witch is Dead,' and 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow.' A Question & Answer session with the cast will follow every performance.

Chicago Shakespeare's GALA 2014 Raises Nearly $1.2 Million

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) celebrated the enduring vitality of Shakespeare on Monday, June 16 with GALA 2014 at its home on Navy Pier, raising nearly $1.2 million for Chicago Shakespeare in Urban Communities. Three hundred and fifty of Chicago's civic, corporate and cultural leaders attended the event benefitting CST's civic engagement and education initiatives, including the citywide summer tradition Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks and Team Shakespeare education programs. The evening culminated in the presentation of the fourth annual Spirit of Shakespeare Awards to this year's Civic Honoree, The Boeing Company and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Greg Smith and his wife Denise, and Artistic Honoree, Chicago theater legend Mike Nussbaum.

All the resources of Lyric Opera of Chicago have been brought to bear on a brand-new production of a title that is known throughout the world, and the result is occasionally thrilling--a feast for the eyes, and usually one for the ears as well.
