Casting for the first two weeks of American Ballet Theatre's 2015 Spring Season at the Metropolitan Opera House was announced today by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie. 

ABT Studio Company and the graduate students of The Royal Ballet School (RBS) will perform a shared bill at The Ailey Citigroup Theater tonight, April 21, and tomorrow, April 22, 2015 at 7:00 P.M.

Ric Burns' new documentary American Masters -- American Ballet Theatre: A History premieres nationwide Friday, May 15, 9-10:30 p.m. on PBS (check local listings) in honor of the ballet company's 75th anniversary. The film features American Ballet Theatre Soloist Misty Copeland, who has been named by TIME Magazine to the 2015 TIME 100 -- its annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world -- and is featured on the cover.

The Off-Broadway League today announced nominations in 18 categories for the 30th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway. The Lortel Awards will be handed out on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at NYU Skirball Center beginning at 7:00 PM EST, and hosted by Emmy-nominated actors Anna Chlumsky (“Veep,” Broadway's Living on Love) and Jesse Tyler Ferguson (“Modern Family,” this summer's The Tempest). This year's event will once again benefit The Actors Fund.

The producers of Nevermore - The Imaginary Life and Mysterious Death of Edgar Allan Poe announced today that an Original Off-Broadway Cast Album will be released on Broadway Records in June 2015. NEVERMORE -- The Imaginary Life and Mysterious Death of Edgar Allan Poe is encouraging audience members to channel their inner Poe by dressing in their finest Goth and Steampunk attire when attending a performance of the off-Broadway hit. Beginning today, February 19, all Thursday evening performances will be 'Goth and Steampunk' inspired, with all audience members dressed in Goth or Steampunk attire receiving a free drink voucher. Just be sure to remove your Top Hat before the show begins!

The Fall season at the Grolier Club opens with the public exhibition Evermore: The Persistence of Poe devoted to one of the most influential authors of the nineteenth century and the chilling master of the macabre, Edgar Allan Poe. On view through November 22, 2014, Evermore showcases an extraordinary array of approximately 200 printed materials and objects drawn from Grolier member Susan Jaffe Tane's personal holdings, widely recognized as the finest Poe collection in private hands.

Company C Contemporary Ballet opens its 12th season with a program featuring two premieres by Susan Jaffe and Charles Anderson, as well as works by Yuri Zhukov and Charles Moulton in six performances today, January 30 through February 16, 2014, in Walnut Creek and San Francisco. In addition, a gala performance, cocktail party, dinner and auction to benefit Company C will be given Saturday, February 15.

Company C Contemporary Ballet founder and Artistic Director Charles Anderson has announced that his 12-year-old Company will undertake a strategic shift its public performance model from a two-program winter and spring season at venues in San Francisco and the East Bay to one driven by artistic projects effective at the close of the current 2014 season in May. The transition has been inspired by Anderson's desire to pursue a variety of artistic and choreographic projects, performances and collaborations without being tied to specific seasonal dates, venues and their attendant requirements. Prior to the discussions of the Company's future direction, founding Executive Director Elizabeth Reed had announced her retirement to the Board effective June 30, 2014 in order to devote more time to her family, and has now made her retirement public.
