Once upon a time, a legendary sci-fi television icon and an infamous biblical villain descended upon a woman trapped by her grief. This is the premise of 7 Stages' latest production by Atlanta playwright Suehyla El-Attar, The Doctor, The Devil, & My Dad, Oct. 2-26.

The Suzi Bass Awards, Inc. revealed nominations for the 2013-2014 Atlanta professional theatrical season this evening to theatre patrons and industry artists. The Suzi Nomination Party, which rotates venues, was hosted this year by Actor's Express in the King Plow Arts Center of Atlanta. Guest announcers included performers Christy Baggett, Laura Cole, Danielle Deadwyler, and Tess Malis Kincaid.

Actor's Express and the New York based company The One-Minute Play Festival continue their dynamic partnership and present The 3rd Annual Atlanta One-Minute Play Festival, to be performed on Sunday June 8 and Monday June 9 at 8pm. Following sold-out performances for the last two seasons, this year's festival will be the largest, most inclusive, and most ambitious collaboration between Actor's Express and The One-Minute Play Festival yet. Local production company, Dynamo Models, will be premiering the web series That's Educational at a launch party and viewing event today, May 13 at One Twelve Gallery (112 Krog Street, Suite 5/Atlanta, Georgia 30307). Doors will open at 8:00pm with a viewing starting around 8:30pm.

Due to increased interest from the community, Horizon Theatre Company has added three Student & Senior Matinees and two evening performances to its run of Third Country by Suehyla El- Attar. The Suzi Nomination Party, which rotates venues, was hosted this year by the Aurora Theatre in Lawrenceville, GA. The spacious lobby allowed guests to enjoy drinks, hors d'ouevres and the chance to congratulate their colleagues. Guest announcers, Atlanta's own funny men Bryan Brendle, Bart Hansard, Tony Larkin, Aurora Theatre artistic director Tony Rodriguez and Scott Warren shared the list of nominees while playfully riffing on the 2011/2012 Atlanta theatre season.

Aurora Theatre ends its season with The Fox on the Fairway opening tonight, May 3, 2012. The play is written by Ken Ludwig (Lend Me a Tenor, Moon Over Buffalo) who 'hits a hole-in-one with his tribute to the great English farces of the 1930s and 1940s. Love and money are in the rough at the Quail Valley Country Club. Two rival country club owners waggle around mistaken identities and play through over-the-top romantic shenanigans in order to stay on the fairway and ace a happy ending. This uproarious golf comedy promises to hit the sweet spot.'
