Known for creating works that are uniquely and bracingly American, where freedom and ritual converge, Kitzke shares his career-long dedication to social justice and the human condition in this special program comprised of a dozen of his works composed between 1987 and 2015, including the world premiere of For Pte Tokahewin Ska. From the premier string quartet ETHEL and pianist Anthony de Mare to Hammond B-3 rising star Wil Smith and accordionist Guy Klucevsek, 26 of today's top contemporary artists will come together to perform and honor the inimitable musical language of Jerome Kitzke.

Carnegie Hall presents Orchestra of St. Luke's in five concerts in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage this season, starting on Thursday, October 29 at 8:00 p.m. with Principal Conductor Pablo Heras-Casado leading a program that includes Stravinsky's Suite No. 2; and Tchaikovsky's rarely heard Symphony No. 1 in G Minor, Op. 13, "Winter Daydreams." Also on the program is Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E Minor, Op. 64 with soloist Christian Tetzlaff.

The Quin, New York's quintessential lifestyle hotel, will inaugurate the Quin Music Series on October 7th at 7:00pm with a special performance by VINX. One of the most gifted improvisational vocalists performing today, VINX' style ranges from jazz to funk, and from bossa nova to blues, as he takes his audience on a sonic world tour. He combines soaring vocals layered with intricate melodies and grooves in the spirit of a true balladeer. Envisioned as 'an evening of storytelling through song,' VINX is scheduled to perform from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in the Quin Arts Sound Lounge at lobby level. He will be joined by Scott Kiefner on upright bass and Brad Myrick on guitar.

There are a few reasons why a nomadic ethnic minority from the Western Sahara has become the poster child of world music in the 21st century. In truth, no one can really put his or her finger on Tinariwen definitively, because they are the living, pure sound of a people, a place, and a time so authentically exotic. To categorize Tinariwen in predefined musical genres is as elusive as believing in a mirage.

Broadway In Chicago and producers Starvox Entertainment and June Entertainment have announced the full cast for SHERLOCK HOLMES. JAMES MASLOW, the actor and singer perhaps best known for playing the role of James Diamond in Nickelodeon's 'Big Time Rush' and a member of the band with the same name, will star as the legendary Dr. John Watson, along with RENNE OLSTEAD, best known for her role as Lauren Miller in the TV sitcom 'Still Standing,' and as Madison Cooperstein in 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager,' as the well-to-do-American, Lady Irene St. John, opposite DAVID ARQUETTE in the title role as SHERLOCK HOLMES. The two actors will make their stage debuts in this new and original adaptation inspired by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic tales by playwright Greg Kramer and directed by Andrew Shaver scheduled to play Chicago's Oriental Theatre (24 W Randolph) November 24 - 29, 2015.

When choreographer Heidi Duckler premieres the first episode of her four-part Dance Telenovela in Los Angeles next week, her core company dancers will be in great musical hands. Violinist Lili Haydn and pianist Bill Goldstein will join Duckler's dancers for an improvised collaboration. The virtuoso duo recently released a completely improvised album.
