Rob Drummond (Bullet Catch, Quiz Show) is offering audiences the chance to tell their future grandchildren an incredible story about their bizarre first date, a tale of meeting at the Fringe but with a twist. Equal parts inspirational presentation and theatrical experiment, the production combines a live on-stage first date with evolutionary theory and scientific research in a celebration of love. Back in 2010, Broadway Musical actor and cabaret artist Rosemary Loar performed her highly praised cabaret show Sting, Stang, Stung!, which featured jazzy and emotional interpretations of the pop icon Sting's (Gordon Sumner) vast collection of hits. Five years later, Loar created a new show—STING*chronicity—based on the Sting songbook and her Metropolitan Room performances received universal acclaim from the cabaret press. Loar is now bringing her tour-de-force performance to the popular downtown venue Joe's Pub at The Public Theater (425 Lafayette Street, 212-967-7555) on August 22 at 7 pm. Tickets are $20 with a $12 food minimum or two drink minimum per person. STING*chronicity is directed by Barry Kleinbort and boasts a band featuring Musical Director Frank Ponzio with Tom Hubbard on bass.

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Young Conservatory Director Craig Slaight announced today the shows that will comprise the summer Young Conservatory (YC) Festival. Productions include the world premiere of Top of the Pyramid, a collaboration among A.C.T.'s Young Conservatory, A.C.T.'s Education & Community Programs, and Oakland's Destiny Arts Center, and Fields of Gold: The Music of Sting, a celebration of the music of singer-songwriter Sting. Top of the Pyramid will perform July 26-30, 2016, in The Rueff at A.C.T.'s Strand Theater (1127 Market Street, San Francisco) and August 5-7, 2016 at Destiny Arts Center (970 Grace Ave, Oakland).
