California Musical Theatre Announces Casting for Music Circus Season - Phillip Boykin, Paul Schoeffler, Jennifer Hope Wills and More!

After auditioning performers in New York City, Los Angeles and Sacramento, California Musical Theatre has confirmed casting for all six shows in the 65th Music Circus season. The stellar cast for the season is loaded with Broadway veterans, some of whom are making their Music Circus debuts, Tony nominees and audience favorites from previous Music Circus productions.

Windy City Playhouse, Chicago's newest Equity theater, located at 3014 W. Irving Park Road, will officially open Monday, March 23, at 7pm. The inaugural production of the 2015 season is Deborah Zoe Laufer's End Days, a comic romp through suburban Armageddon, which begins previews March 19 and continues through April 26.

About Face Theatre has announced its full line-up of 2014-15 programming, kicking off this fall with the Chicago premiere of METHTACULAR!, Steven Strafford's hilarious and harrowing autobiographical account of his three year crystal meth addiction in Chicago. In the winter, AFT presents the Chicago premiere of Daniel Pearle's A KID LIKE JAKE, a contemporary look at gender seen through the lens of parents shepherding their Cinderella-loving son through the rigors of NYC kindergarten admissions. About Face Theatre commemorates Pride Month with THE PRIDE PERFORMANCE SERIES, a spectacular line-up of readings, performances and special events throughout June celebrating the LGBTQIA experience. The series kicks off with a reading of Jonathan Tolins' comedy The Last Sunday in June, starring real life couple Michael Urie (of TV's Ugly Betty) and his partner Ryan Spahn. Urie is currently starring in Tolins' comedy Buyer & Cellar at Chicago's Broadway Playhouse. Up next, AFT Artistic Associate Paul Oakley Stovall leads a panel of Chicago artists through an exploration of Lesbians & Literature. Then, playwright Bixby Elliot (Girl You Know It's True) unravels everything you've ever learned about our 16th President as AFT presents a reading of his hilarious play Abraham Lincoln was a F*gg*t. Broadway may be dark on Mondays, but more than a dozen young performers from stage, film, and television shone at the first ever Songs for Story Shifters benefit concert on Monday November 4th at Stage 72 in The Triad Theater. Proceeds from the two shows will go to Story Shifters, an education residency program providing free theater education to New York City students with autism and other learning disabilities.
