This Friday the New York Pops journeys back to a fancier era, where men were men and the women wore beautiful clothing! Carnegie Hall will be transformed into a Mad Men inspired wonderland for a very special concert featuring Cheyenne Jackson and the 'music of the Mad Men Era'. The show was conceived and conducted by Steven Reineke, who was kind enough to speak with BWW about his love of that genre, and working with the talented Cheyenne Jackson.

The New York Pops orchestra, under the baton of Music Director Steven Reineke, celebrates the holidays with swinging seasonal favorites on December 16 and 17, 2011 at 8:00pm. Reineke has been heralded by The New York Times as 'young and vigorous, with a playful attitude that has been a pops orchestral tradition since the heyday of Arthur Fiedler...a polished, welcoming host.' John Pizzarelli and Jessica Molaskey, the couple The New York Times called 'a musical match made in heaven,' will perform with the orchestra in a program featuring festive holiday tunes such as 'We Need a Little Christmas', 'It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year', 'Go Tell It On the Mountain', 'Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy', 'I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm' and 'Little Bolero Boy'. Essential Voices USA, conducted by Judith Cluman, will also join The New York Pops in the festive concert at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage.

Aaron Lazar's passion, originality and engaging demeanor have helped propel his career from the stage to screen, and to 'The Tao of Broadway' which will play Le Poisson Rouge on Monday November 7th.

On November 18 at 8:00pm, Carnegie Hall hosts a vintage attire contest for audience members attending The New York Pops' concert entitled Cheyenne Jackson's Cocktail Hour: Music of the Mad Men Era.

LIVING FOR TODAY, with musical direction by Nate Patten, and direction by David Alpert, played a one-night-only engagement at the newly renovated Joe's Pub last night, October 17, 2011 at 7:00PM. The fourth annual LIVING FOR TODAY concert showcased Broadway stars in an exciting night of music. This year's concert, titled FIRST NAME BASIS, featured everyone's favorite showtunes, but only those with a first name in the title. Proceeds go to the Gilana Shira Alpert Fund. Steven Reineke, conductor of The New York Pops, was the guest conductor last week as the Toronto Symphony Orchestra kicked off their 2011-2012 Pops Season with 'Hollywood Hits' featuring Jodi Benson and Hugh Panaro.
