The Tony Award-winning Drama Book Shop is honored to welcome stage and screen legend Joel Grey on Monday, April 25th at 5:00pm. The actor will discuss his newly released memoir Master of Ceremonies with Drama Book Shop Events Manager Steven Carl McCasland, including a Q&A with the audience. The event, in the Arthur Seelen Theatre downstairs, will be followed by signing on the main floor of the shop. Admission is free to the public, but those who have purchased Mr. Grey's book directly from The Drama Book Shop will be given first priority admission. On Tuesday, April 5th, Theatre Communications Group (TCG) presented 'An Evening with Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis,' author of the hit Broadway play The Motherf***er with the Hat, which featured a reading of excerpts from several of his plays, a discussion, and signing of his newly published play, Between Riverside and Crazy, for which he received the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, at the Drama Book Shop in New York, now celebrating its 99th year. Over the weekend, stars of stage and shop employees gathered for a night of stories and songs to celebrate and benefit the legendary Drama Book Shop at Feinstein's/54 Below. Check out photos from the night below!
The legendary shop has been much-talked about lately, after Lin-Manuel Miranda (of Hamilton fame) launched an internet campaign to bring sales into the flooded shop. And now, tonight, March 26th, stars of stage and shop employees will gather for a night of stories and songs to celebrate and benefit the legendary Drama Book Shop at Feinstein's/54 Below. The 7pm concert will feature many of the all-star Broadway talent who frequent the shop on a daily basis.
Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. Steven Carl McCasland's critically acclaimed play Little Wars will make its international debut this April, when it receives its Bermuda premiere production at The Bermuda Musical and Dramatic Society.
The World Premiere production of Steven Carl McCasland's The Halls Of Importance will appear in New York's Venus/Adonis Theater Festival in early 2016. The play will be presented at New York's Hudson Guild Theater on Tuesday, February 2nd at 6:15pm, Saturday, February 6th at 8:30pm and Sunday, February 7th at 1:00pm.
