Charing Cross Theatre Announces Upcoming Season

Charing Cross Theatre has announced its second season, opening with the world premiere of THE MAN ON HER MIND, followed by the Olivier Award-winning OperaUpClose production of LA BOHEME, and concluding with the UK premiere of the 1969 Jerry Herman musical DEAR WORLD.

Mikhail Baryshnikov Stars in Lincoln Center's IN PARIS, Now thru 8/5

The multi-faceted Mikhail Baryshnikov, who famously left the Soviet Union in 1974, returns to the theater to perform for the first time in his mother tongue in the Dmitry Krymov Laboratory's production of a haunting new play, In Paris, as part of the Lincoln Centre Festival this Summer.

STATE OF THE ARTS (SOTA), the critically acclaimed weekly performing arts radio series which previously, since its May 31, 2010 premiere, aired live on Mondays from 4:00 - 4:50 pm PST on the LATalkRadio.com Network, is moving its weekly broadcast to Thursdays beginning today, July 19, 2012, it was previously announced by State of the Arts co-producer/co-hosts and theatre professionals MICHAEL STERLING & Paul Stroili.

STATE OF THE ARTS (SOTA), the critically acclaimed weekly performing arts radio series which previously, since its May 31, 2010 premiere, aired live on Mondays from 4:00 - 4:50 pm PST on the LATalkRadio.com Network, is moving its weekly broadcast to Thursdays beginning Thursday, July 19, 2012, it was announced today by State of the Arts co-producer/co-hosts and theatre professionals MICHAEL STERLING & PAUL STROILI. Guests on July 19 will include TV, Broadway star and Tony Award nominee CHRISTOPHER SIEBER (Shrek The Musical, and co-star with George Hamilton in the U.S. National Tour of La Cage Aux Folles; and Film and Television star ESAI MORALES (La Bamba, NYPD Blue, Caprica - Syfy TV's prequel to the series Battlestar Galactica).

Sean Brown and Matilda Sturridge have been cast in the pivotal central roles of Jay Gatsby and Daisy Buchanan in the world premiere of The Great Gatsby Musical, based on the classic American novel by F Scott Fitzgerald.

A song inspired by the restless, disjointed thoughts that race through the brain at 4am in the morning, Above & Beyond's 'On My Way To Heaven' is an existential rant that is typical of a band that looks well beyond the EDM status quo for its lyrical inspiration. Lincoln Center Festival Kicks Off Tonight, 7/5; Full Listings

Nigel Redden, Director of Lincoln Center Festival, announced the Festival's line-up, which runs from tonight, July 5 through August 5, 2012. Theater offerings include Mikhail Baryshnikov in Dmitry Krymov's staging of a new play, In Paris, as well as Sydney Theatre Company's acclaimed production of Uncle Vanya directed by Tamas Ascher and adapted by Andrew Upton. The stellar cast includes John Bell, Cate Blanchett, Hayley McElhinney, Richard Roxburgh, and Hugo Weaving.

Steven Berkoff Premieres 6 ACTORS IN SEARCH OF A DIRECTOR, Now thru June 23

Steven Berkoff is to direct the World Premiere of his latest play, 6 Actors in Search of a Director, a comedy set on a movie location set, for a West End season at Charing Cross Theatre from tonight 16th May - Saturday 23rd June. Six actors are on a movie set waiting for their call. Until then they are in limbo needing the director to bring them to life. He does this merely by using the one magic word - "Action!"

byMoonlight's EAST offers the audience, should they dare to take it, a hilarious, heartfelt and uncensored insight into the cut-throat violence and uncertainty of London's East End through five characters. The show will be held during Brighton Fringe at The Latest Musicbar, 14 - 17 Manchester Street, Brighton, BN2 1TF on May 2nd - 19:00 (Preview) and May 14th and 15th - 21:30. Stabilized Not Controlled will play its last preview March 25, Sunday, 5:00 pm, at Stage Left Studio, 214 W. 30th Street. Studio owner and producer of the show, Cheryl King has now booked the show to begin weekly performances starting April 29, following the Fifth Annual Left Out Festival. Two-for-one tickets are being offered for the final preview, and other discount tickets are available courtesy of TDF.
