VERITAS Benefit Party Held 8/6, Event Hosted By Cumming, Porter & More

There will be a special Benefit Celebration on Friday, August 6th at 9:00 pm in honor of the 2010 FringeNYC production of 'Veritas' by Stan Richardson, directed by Ryan J. Davis. The eveningl benefit will be with the exceptional talented cast and production team of 'Veritas' in a sumptuous West Village apartment.

Perkins 28 Productions Presents VERITAS at FringeNYC, 8/20-28

Perkins 28 Productions presents 'Veritas' by Stan Richardson at HERE Arts Center Mainstage Theater, 145 6th Avenue (enter on Dominick, 1 blk south of Spring) Inspired by true events, 'Veritas' is the story of a group of young men at Harvard in 1920 whose promising futures fell prey to Harvard's 'Secret Court': a gay witch-hunt conducted by school administration to purge Harvard of all homosexuality. The talented cast includes Justin Blanchard, Paul Downs Colaizzo, Mitch Dean, Morgan Karr, Doug Kreeger, Eric Nelsen, Matt Steiner, Jesse Swenson, Sam Underwood, and Joseph Yeargain. It is directed by Ryan J Davis, with costumes by Matthew Pachtman, lighting by Brian Tovar. Nathan Vernon is the associate producer, with casting by Daryl Eisenberg; assistant director is Alex Jensen and Adam J. Thompson is the dramaturg. The stage manager is Corey Philips and Maria de Cesare is the website designer. Performances will be Fri 8/20 @ 7pm; Sun 8/22 @ 8pm; Tue 8/24 @ 4:15pm; Fri 8/27 @ 5:15pm; and Sat 8/28 @ 8pm during the 14th New York International Fringe Festival-FringeNYC. 1hr 40mins. www.VeritasThePlay.com.

Final casting is announced for the special one-night-only reading of Stan Richardson's VERITAS to benefit Lambda Legal. Two new cast members - Chase Peacock (Broadway: American Idiot, Papermill: High School Musical) and Chad Hoeppner (Broadway: Come Back Little Sheba, Butley) join Matt Doyle (Broadway: Spring Awakening, Bye Bye Birdie), Tate Ellington (Broadway: The Philanthropist; Film: Remember Me), Eric Nelson (Broadway: 13), Mitch Dean (Altar Boyz), Blake Daniel (Broadway: Spring Awakening), Matt Steiner (The Acting Company's Jane Eyre), Wayne Wilcox (Broadway: Coram Boy, TV: Gilmore Girls), and Christian Coulson (Film: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets).

Special Benefit Reading Of VERITAS To Be Held 5/25

A special benefit reading of Stan Richardson's Veritas, for Lambda Legal, starring Tate Ellington (Broadway: The Philanthropist; Film: Remember Me), Mitch Dean (Altar Boyz), Matt Steiner (The Acting Company's Jane Eyre) and directed by Ryan J. Davis (White Noise, Broadway Beauty Pageants) will perform on Tuesday, May 25th at 8PM. This performance will include music by Rachel Peters (Stretch [a fantasia]) freely adapted from the Harvard Song Book.

The Coterie Presents a Reading of PRAIRIE DOGS 1/18

The Coterie, a downtown opera-theater company devoted to developing contemporary music theater works, will present a reading of the one-act comic opera PRAIRIE DOGS by Rachel Peters (Stretch (a fantasia)) and Royce Vavrek (Dog Days) on Monday, January 18th, at 7pm at A.R.T./New York (520 8th Avenue, New York City).

Zishan Ugurlu directs. From March 12 to 15, La MaMa E.T.C., in association with Actors without Borders-ITONY, will present the U.S. premiere of 'Baghdadi Bath' by Jawad al-Assadi, Iraq's best-known playwright and recipient of the Prince Claus Award for his dedication to freedom of cultural expression.

'Happy Endings' Explores Lives of Sex Workers, Begins Feb.12

Blue Coyote Theater Group and Access Theater present Blue Coyote's Happy Endings begins performances on Tuesday, February 12 for a limited engagement through Saturday, March 1. Blue Coyote Theater group commissioned ten of their favorite playwrights to create new short plays on the lives of sex workers. Presented in a stripped-down style, the plays are raunchy, funny, and surprisingly tender.
