Family, faith, and food' are 'the three F's' governing Joe DiPietro's heartwarming comedy Over The River and Through The Woods, which will run from today, April 4th through May 11th at the Broward Stage Door Theatre. The play, which takes place in Hoboken, New Jersey focuses on the relationship between young up-and-coming marketing executive Nick Cristano, and his four loving and very involved grandparents. When Nick is offered a career advancing opportunity across the country, he is faced with making some tough and life-altering decisions.

Every ethnicity, nationality and religion prizes its heritage, but Jews put a special value on honoring a direct bond with their forebears stretching across 6,000 years. That cornerstone of Passover also underlies James Sherman's 1985 comic drama The God of Isaac, enjoying an enthusiastic and effective revival at Broward Stage Door. But the search for roots - regardless of our background - makes the show easily relatable to anyone living in this nation of immigrants.

The Broward Stage Door Theatre has announced its line-up of productions for 2014-2015. For its 21st season the company, headed by Derelle Bunn and Dave Torres has planned an exciting mix of comedies, musicals, and straight plays that will appeal to their broad base of theatre patrons.

For my last interview I chose both a local and one of our beautiful cut dancers (Vickie Vickers). She is a transplant to South Florida from NYC. I look forward to seeing her every night onstage, because she looks fantastic in her costume. Enjoy.

A musical about the struggles of a bipolar woman and the plight of two prisoners in a concentration camp during the Holocaust received the most nominations in the musical and play categories when the nominations were announced for the 38th Carbonell Awards, which honors excellence in theatre in South Florida.

Beth Henley's Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy Crimes of the Heart will open at the Broward Stage Door Theatre on January 17th, and run through February 23rd. Sometimes described as Hannah and Her Sisters with a Southern accent, Crimes of the Heart has often been named one of the finest plays in American Theatre. Along with the 1981 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, the play was awarded the 1981 New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best American Play, and the 1982 Theatre World Award.

The Broward Stage Door Theatre will present the regional premiere of 9 to 5: The Musical from tonight, December 13th through January 19th. Based on the 1980 hit movie starring Dolly Parton, the show features Parton's original award-winning title song, as well as her Tony Award and Grammy-nominated score. Outrageous, thought-provoking, and even a little romantic, 9 to 5: The Musical is a story of friendship, revenge, teaming up, and taking care of business!

Executive Producers Dee Wilson-Bunn of the Stage Door Theatre in South Florida today announced an addition to the company's 2013-2014 Season - the award-winning pre-New York engagement of WIESENTHAL, written by and starring Tom Dugan. Produced by Tony Award-winner Normand Kurtz, who brought Broward audiences the record-breaking hit Too Jewish, WIESENTHAL tells the remarkable story of the life of Simon Wiesenthal, sometimes referred to as 'The Jewish James Bond.' Told with hope, humanity and humor, the play follows Wiesenthal as he addresses a group of visitors on his last day at the Jewish Documentation Center in Vienna. As he reflects on his life and work, Wiesenthal recounts how he faced Hitler's SS; how he endured the loss of family and friends; how he escaped a concentration camp only to be recaptured; and how, after liberation day, he began a remarkable journey for justice.
