Kathy Evans, Founder and Executive Director, announced the nine musicals and eighteen writers selected for the third summer of the Rhinebeck Writers Retreat. For nine consecutive weeks beginning June 23rd, each writing team will have an individual weeklong residency in Rhinebeck, New York to write their musical. All costs are fully funded by donors including The ASCAP Foundation, The Dramatists Guild Fund, and The Noel Coward Foundation. Writers include Tony-winners and nominees Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening), and Heidi Rodewald and Stew (Passing Strange), and multi-award winners Adam Gwon, Laura Harrington, Joe Iconis, Kait Kerrigan, and Brian Lowdermilk.

Dramatists Play Service will publish and license the acting edition of Nora Ephron's LUCKY GUY, which has been nominated for six Tony Awards including Best Play. Founded in 1936 by the Dramatists Guild of America and the Society for Authors' Representatives, Dramatists Play Service publishes and licenses productions of plays in the United States, Canada and throughout the world. The company has published 18 of the last 25 Tony Award-winners for Best Play, including M. Butterfly, The Heidi Chronicles, The Grapes of Wrath, Dancing at Lughnasa, Love! Valour! Compassion!, Master Class, The Last Night of Ballyhoo, Art, Side Man, Proof, The Goat, or Who is Sylvia, Take Me Out, I Am My Own Wife, Doubt, August: Osage County, God of Carnage, Red and Clybourne Park.

Emmy Award-winning actress Jane Lynch, who stars in the hit FOX television show "Glee" as ruthless cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester and who made her Broadway debut last week as tyrannical orphanage matron Miss Hannigan in ANNIE, will be a guest on "The View" tomorrow, Tuesday, May 21. In the New York area, "The View" airs at 11:00 AM on WABC-TV Channel 7. Check local listings. Lynch will play Miss Hannigan through Sunday, July 14.

In May, it was announced that Ghostlight Records will preserve the hit Second Stage Theatre production of The Last Five Years, created and directed by Jason Robert Brown. Second Stage Theatre has extended this production starring Adam Kantor and Betsy Wolfe three times. The Last Five Years is performed at Second Stage's Tony Kiser Theatre (305 West 43rd street) through today, May 18, 2013. Shout! Broadway has announced that the New 2012 Broadway Cast Recording for ANNIE is available for purchase at the Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway between 46th and 47th Streets), beginning tonight, May 7. The merchandise stand is open to the public one hour prior to performance. Digital release will be on Tuesday, May 28. The recording will be released to national retail outlets on Tuesday, July 2.

LUCKY GUY, starring two-time Academy Award-winner and Tony Award nominee Tom Hanks, officially recouped its $3.6 million capitalization costs as of the week ending 4/28/13, eight weeks after beginning performances. The world premiere production of Nora Ephron's final work, which this week was nominated for six Tony Awards including Best Play, has also broken a record three times as the highest grossing play in Broadway history.

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) announces 11 awards granted from their National Fund for New Musicals, a major funding program to support NAMT member not-for-profit theatres in their collaborations with writers to create, develop and produce new musicals. Now in its fifth year, the Fund will provide grants totaling $37,000 to 11 organizations across the country.
