St. Ann's Warehouse welcomes back the National Theatre of Scotland, director John Tiffany and associate director Steven Hoggett for the American Premiere of Let the Right One In, which Jack Thorne adapted for the stage from John Ajvide Lindqvist's novel and screenplay, and which garnered tremendous acclaim on London's West End earlier this year.
St. Ann's Warehouse welcomes back Kneehigh Theatre and director Emma Rice for the New York Premiere of Tristan & Yseult, the acclaimed production that catapulted the Cornwall-based company onto the national stage. In her adaptation of the epic Cornish drama, Rice employs Kneehigh's signature blend of high theatrics-performances alternately poignant and comic, evocative spectacle, and gorgeous live music-to reimagine the tale of forbidden desires, broken hearts and the agony of choosing one love over another. Reviewing the production last year, The Guardian wrote, 'If this show doesn't make you fall in love with theatre, there's no potion on Earth that can help you.'
The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) and OBERON are pleased to announce that due to the highticket demand for the production pool (no water), an additional performance has been added to the limited run schedule. The new schedule is as follows:
Rehearsals begin today, Thursday, October 2 in New York City for The River, a new play by Jez Butterworth, starring Hugh Jackman, Laura Donnelly and Cush Jumbo and directed by Ian Rickson. The River begins preview performances in four weeks on Friday, October 31 and will open on Sunday, November 16 at the Circle in the Square Theatre (50th Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). The production will play a strictly limited 13-week engagement through Sunday, January 25, 2015.
Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd announces the cast and creative team for Dracula, the Original Vampire Play, the second production in the 'Alley Theatre @ UH' season. Featuring iconic costume and set designs by Edward Gorey, the Alley's production is based on the original 1927 adaptation of the classic thriller that marvelously balances the menace of the horror tale with sophisticated satire.
According to the New York Times, musician Courtney Love will soon star in Todd Almond's new opera KANSAS CITY CHOIR BOY, which will premiere at Prototype 2015. The production will run January 7-17.
Love told NYT: 'I love the concept, and I'm loving the music. I'm playing it constantly. I'm looking to do things that are different. I just finished a rock tour of Australia, and it was great, but I've been doing that for a long time. I wanted to do something challenging.'

'Misterman' enjoyed sold-out runs and glowing reviews from audiences and critics when it premiered at the 2011 Galway Arts Festival, followed by the New York premiere at St. Ann's Warehouse. 'Misterman' is headed to Colorado with the news that Mr. Walsh's critically acclaimed hit play, will feature Olympia Dukakis voicing the role of Mammy. The play will be directed by Melissa Firlit and the role of Thomas Magill will be played by New York actor Craig MacArthur. 'Misterman' opens at the Thingamajig Theatre Company's 99-seat black box today, September 26th and runs through October 12th. The production will then relocate to Denver this fall before returning to New York in spring of 2015.

Two River Theater, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Dias and Managing Director Michael Hurst, announces the cast and creative team for its production of Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe's Camelot, directed by David Lee with music direction and orchestrations by Steve Orich (Jersey Boys) and choreography by Mark Esposito (South Pacific with Reba McEntire). The production will run November 15-December 14, 2014, with the opening night on Friday, November 21 at 8pm. The play is part of the 2nd annual Theater:Village Festival, and runs from today, September 6 - 27, 2014 in a limited engagement at the New Ohio Theatre, located at 154 Christopher Street between Greenwich and Washington Streets in New York City. In 2012, Phyllida Lloyd's all-female production of Julius Caesar at the Donmar Warehouse placed the play in a women's prison. It stunned audiences on both sides of the Atlantic and challenged the idea of 'who owns Shakespeare?' In one of the schools workshops around the production, teachers heard one of their students, a girl, speak in public for the first time. It couldn't end there.
