Stage, film and television star Anna Paquin has announced her engagement to fellow actor Stephen Moyer. Moyer co-stars as Paquin's boyfriend on the hit HBO series, True Blood.

Film Independent, the non-profit arts organization that produces the Spirit Awards and the Los Angeles Film Festival, announced today that the 2010 Spirit Awards will be held on Friday, March 5, 2010, and will air live and uncut at 8:00 p.m. PST/11:00 p.m. EST on IFC (Independent Film Channel). The nominations press conference will take place on Tuesday, December 1.

Coyote REP proudly announces their next project, currently in development; a play about a young breast cancer survivor and the particular challenges she faces in light of her age, raising her young child, and the severity of this disease. New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director William Russo have announced that Aftermath, written by Jessica Blank & Erik Jensen, and directed by Ms. Blank, will begin performances Tuesday, September 1, at 7pm, at NYTW, 79 East 4th Street, between Second Avenue and Bowery. Opening night is scheduled for Tuesday, September 15 at 7:00pm. The production will run through Sunday, October 4.

On Tuesday June 30th Harlem's Apollo Theater held a public memorial to Michael Jackson . The theater admitted 600 people at a time for a series of tribute videos and eulogies. DJs played Jackson's music throughout the day and fans left flowers and other tokens. Celebrities such as Spike Lee and Reverend Al Sharpton paid their respects during the day, cheering on the memory of the late 'King of Pop'.

Colman Domingo will replace Orlando Jones in the title role of The Wiz for the final six performances, June 29 - July 5 at New York City Center. Mr. Jones is leaving the show early in order to shoot his new series 'Crash Course' for ABC-TV. The Encores! Summer Stars production of The Wiz stars Ashanti, LaChanze, Joshua Henry, James Monroe Iglehart, Christian Dante White, Tichina Arnold and Dawnn Lewis.
