Mabel Mercer Foundation Announces 25th Anniversary New York Cabaret Convention FOUR MAGICAL NIGHTS, 10/20 - 10/23

After more than two decades of exciting contribution to the New York musical scene, The Mabel Mercer Foundation hits a new high this autumn by producing its 25th annual New York Cabaret Convention for four evenings, October 20th-23rd. All performances begin at 6 o'clock at the Rose Theater, Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Frederick P. Rose Hall at Broadway and 60th Street.

Spider Saloff Performs BERLIN IN SWINGTIME at Logan Center Performance Penthouse Tonight

Tonight, April 5, 2014 at 8pm, celebrated chanteuse Spider Saloff will present Berlin In Swingtime, a rare performance that explores the life and songs of Irving Berling, with Chicago's Jeremy Kahn at the piano. The performance is presented in partnership with KMP Artists and UChicago Arts at Logan Center's Performance Penthouse.

BWW Reviews: An Uber Cool Spider Saloff Brings Her Cool Yule to Rockwell

On Tuesday December 3 sublime singer Spider Saloff appeared at Rockwell Table and Stage for an evening of Cool Yule accompanied by electric jazz pianist Richard Eames. I say sublime, as there are a rare few like Saloff who can really sing, wrapping their heart around the lyrics of a song and then delivering it as if they had never told the story before. It takes an actress to sing well, and Saloff has everything it takes. Like Garland, she's one of the best.

Among the 60 outstanding artists who will take the stage at the Rose Theater at Jazz at Lincoln Center from today, October 7th through 10th are multiple Grammy Award winner Jack Jones, Marilyn Maye, Steve Ross, Karen Akers, Nellie McKay, and Barbara Carroll.

City Winery Chicago, one of the city's newest music venues and philanthropic supporter of music education, will host and sponsor a special concert to benefit its West Loop neighbor, Merit School of Music. Tonight, June 24 The Three Ellas, a veteran female vocal jazz trio, and 11-year-old newcomer Mae Ya Carter Ryan, will perform a brilliant jazz repertoire. All net proceeds from the event will subsidize Merit's music education programs.
