A world premiere, fully-staged production by John Patrick Shanley, the first professional production for playwright Tracy Thorne, and the newest musical project from the multi-award winning director Michael Mayer will be just a few of the many highlights of Vassar & New York Stage and Film's Powerhouse Theater season, June 25 - August 1, 2010.
Vassar & New York Stage and Film's Powerhouse Theater Training Program will present two classic works - Sophie Treadwell's Machinal (July 9 - 12) and William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet (July 16 - 19) - performed by the Powerhouse Apprentice Company at Vassar's Outdoor Amphitheater. In 2007, these performances were named by Hudson Valley Magazine as the 'Best Way to Introduce Kids to the Classics' in the annual 'Best of the Hudson Valley.' All the programs will begin at 6:00pm each evening. (In case of rain, the performances will be held in the Mug in the basement of the College Center.)

Local playwright Masha Obolensky's new play Not Enough Air will end its run at the Nora Theatre Company March 14th. Not Enough Air tells the riveting story of two women: one on trial for murder, the other a writer determined to tell her story. Performances of the show began February 11th.
