According to the New York Times ArtsBeat Blog, Sony Pictures Entertainment has just inked a five-year deal with Scott Sanders, the Broadway producer behind such hits as 'Evita' and 'The Color Purple', to bring some of the studio's most popular films to the Broadway stage.

GSN announced the premiere date for two original series premiering in August: THE AMERICAN BIBLE CHALLENGE, an original one-hour game show hosted by comedian Jeff Foxworthy, will premiere tonight, August 23 at 8 pm ET/PT.

Bringing star power to its fast-paced word guessing game, GSN (formerly Game Show Network) announced today a stellar lineup of celebrity guests for THE PYRAMID. The daily strip show will air Monday through Friday at 6 pm ET, and will premiere on Monday, September 3 at 6 pm ET. 'Community' stars Yvette Nicole Brown and Danny Pudi will be featured in the premiere week.

The return engagement of the award-winning production Fela! is set to close after 32 performances at Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theatre tonight, August 4.

On Monday, August 6 Watts Village Theater Company (WVTC) will host its annual Gala titled, "Meet Me @Metro: Uncovering LA's Hidden Treasures VIP Gala & Pre-Show." The Gala will serve to promote WVTC's annual site-specific collaboration with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, "Meet Me @Metro: Uncovering LA's Hidden Treasures," which runs from Aug. 25 - Sept. 2, 2012. Proceeds from the event will go towards programming including WVTC's ongoing after-school underserved youth arts education programming in South LA in partnership with Green Dot Public Schools.

A new international trailer for the highly anticipated James Bond film SKYFALL has just been released. The teaser features James Bond who returns to spydom after apparently being in self-exile for a number years. GSN announced it has acquired off-network rights to 68 one-hour episodes of the hit game show MINUTE TO WIN IT from NBCUniversal Cable & New Media Distribution.

Last night's season five debut of AMC's 'Breaking Bad' was the most watched episode in the history of the series. From 10pm - 11pm, the network earned a 2.2 HH rating delivering 2.9 million viewers. This marks an increase of +22%/ +14% respectively. Even more impressive is the exceptional growth among the coveted 18-49 demo, which saw a +34% increase versus last season's premiere. Among the Adults 25-54 demo, 'Breaking Bad' delivered 1.8 million marking an increase of +28%. For the night, 'Breaking Bad's' season 5 premiere attracted 3.5 million viewers with the 10:00 pm EST premiere and the 11:30pm EST encore. In August, AMC announced the final 16 episodes to conclude the series. 'Breaking Bad' airs on AMC Sunday nights at 10pm ET/PT.
