Penny Seats Theatre Company's XANADU Opens 7/14

On July 14 at Ann Arbor's West Park Band Shell, the Penny Seats Theatre Company launches their production of 2007 Broadway musical smash, Xanadu (based on the 1980 cult classic movie of the same name), with a book by Douglas Carter Beane and music and lyrics by Jeff Lynne and John Farrar.

Hale Center Theater Orem to Present Encore Benefit Production of XANADU

Many people probably know Dr. Chris Clark, as a regular Director of plays and musicals at HCTO for the last 10 years, but they may not know that Chris has also directed at many other theaters locally, nationally and internationally, as well as being the Chair of the Theater Department at UVU. Chris has a very long resume of over 60 shows over the last 20 years, and is the Executive Producer for Robert Redford's Sundance Summer Theatre. He recently won the 2013 National Outstanding Director Award from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for his production of Vincent at Brixton. He has produced and traveled eight productions to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Chris has a BA and PhD from Brigham Young University and an MFA from the University of Exeter (UK.)

American Theater Company (ATC) opens musical comedy Xanadu, the final production of its Legacy Season, this Sunday, June 5. Presented as a tribute to ATC's late Artistic Director PJ Paparelli-a not-so-secret fan of this camp classic-Xanadu is directed by Lili-Anne Brown and runs at ATC now through July 17, 2016. The production has music and lyrics by Jeff Lynne and John Farrar and a book by Douglas Carter Beane, based on the 1980 Universal Pictures film of the same title.

XANADU Film Star Set for ATC's Benefit, 6/8

Culminating American Theater Company's (ATC) season-long Legacy Campaign supporting the vision of its late artistic director, PJ Paparelli, ATC will host a special performance of Xanadu, a guilty pleasure of Paparelli's, Wednesday, June 8, starting at 8 p.m. The event will feature a post-show reception and talk-back with actress Katie Hanley who, among other theater and film credits, appeared in the 1980 Universal Pictures film Xanadu, and on Broadway as 'Marty' in the original 1972 production of Grease. Hanley will be joined by native Chicagoan Jim Jacobs, co-creator of the musical Grease and ATC's Legacy Campaign chairman. Tickets are $75 for a single ticket and $125 for a pair. Proceeds from the campaign are dedicated to developing and producing new work and providing free education programming to Chicago Public High School students. Theatre Aspen School to Present XANADU, JR

Theatre Aspen School today announced that the company for the Spring Youth Production of the musical comedy Xanadu, Jr. includes technical students from the recently formed Theatre Aspen School Tech Company. These students learn theatrical design and stagecraft from industry experts and gain practical experience working backstage. Tickets are on sale now for the run which includes four performances at the Wheeler Opera House, from April 14th through 16th.

American Theater Company (ATC), 1909 W. Byron Street, announces casting for the musical comedy Xanadu, the final production of its Legacy Season. XANADU Begins Tonight at CT Repertory Theatre

Connecticut Repertory Theatre completes its 2015 Nutmeg Summer Series with the musical comedy Xanadu. Directed by CRT's Artistic Director, Vincent J. Cardinal and choreographed by Cassie Abate, Xanadu tells the story of a muse named Clio who travels to 1980's Venice Beach, California disguised as a mortal to inspire chalk artist and beach boy Sonny Malone. Clio faces the jealousy of her two sisters, Melpomene and Calliope, the wrath of her father Zeus, and the struggles of fitting in as a mortal as she and Danny fight for their dream to open a roller disco with awesome mirror balls. Amandina Altomare stars in the lead role of Clio/Kira. Altomare was previously seen on the CRT stage as Lousie in Gypsy, Judy in A Chorus Line, and earlier this summer in LES MISERABLES: A Musical Celebration directed by Terrence Mann. Performances of Xanadu begin on July 9, 2015 and run through July 19, 2015 at Connecticut Repertory Theatre's Harriet S. Jorgensen Theatre. Tickets are on sale now at crt.uconn.edu or 860-486-2113.

She is a proud member of the USO Show Troupe which provides entertainment for veterans and active military all over the world.
