MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG, TARTUFFE, & More Highlight Huntington Theatre Co's 2017-18 Season

Huntington Theatre Company, Boston's leading professional theatre, announces its 2017-2018 season. The Huntington has long been an anchor cultural institution of Huntington Avenue, the Avenue of the Arts, and will remain so on a permanent basis. The Huntington's upcoming season will include productions in the Huntington Avenue Theatre (known as the BU Theatre through June 30), and plans are underway to convert the theatre into a first-rate, modern venue with expanded services to audiences, artists, and the community. The 36th season will include four plays at the Huntington Avenue Theatre, as well as three plays at the Wimberly Theatre and one special event in the Roberts Studio Theatre, both located in the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA in the South End.

Jez Butterworth's THE FERRYMAN Will Transfer to the Gielgud Theatre; Cast Announced!

After the short run at the Royal Court Theatre sold out in just one day, the producers are delighted to announce that Jez Butterworth's epic, new playThe Ferryman will transfer to the West End. Multi award-winning actor, director and writer Paddy Considine will be joined by Laura Donnelly and Genevieve O'Reilly in the production directed by Sam Mendes.

HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD Will Cast Its Spell on Broadway in Spring 2018; Auditions Underway!

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Cirque du Soleil's PARAMOUR will be vacating Broadway's Lyric Theatre for renovations commencing in May 2017, and rumor has it that  producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender, with J.K. Rowling have been in exclusive talks to bring HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD to fill the vacancy. Now according to an Equity casting notice, auditions are about to commence for the Broadway transfer, which will reportedly arrive in Winter 2018.

Big Brother may be watching, but soon Broadway fans will have the opportunity to watch right back. In a move that is as timely as it is eerie, the lauded stage adaptation of George Orwell's classic dystopian novel 1984 will make the leap from the West End to Broadway this summer.

A Red Orchid Theatre continues 2016- 2017 Season with the Chicago premiere of The Nether, written by Jennifer Haley,directed by Ensemble Member Karen Kessler. The Nether features Ensemble Members Guy Van Swearingen and Doug Vickers with Maya Hlava, Ashley Neal and Steve Schine. The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey Announces Its 2017 Season

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey announces its 2017 lineup after completing an immensely successful 2016 season that was repeatedly featured in "Top Ten Productions of 2016" listings, such as The Star-Ledger, The Wall Street Journal, and NJ Arts. The 2017 season promises to be a thrilling one, featuring beloved classics, as well as an epic new work. The Theatre is especially proud to be the first theatre in the Northeast to present Shakespeare in Love by Lee Hall, the new play based on the Academy Award-winning film by Marc Norman and Tom Stoppard with music by Paddy Cunneen. The new stage adaptation is one of five plays to appear on STNJ's Main Stage in 2017 and will be accompanied with works by Moliere, Shakespeare and Joe Orton. 

Will Amber Riley-Led DREAMGIRLS Land on Broadway Next Season?

Effie might indeed be going... to Broadway. According to the New York Post, London producer Sonia Friedman is already looking for a Broadway Theater to transfer the West End production, which has been bringing audiences to their feet nightly.

New Casting Announced for A CLOCKWORK ORANGE at Park Theatre

Action To The Word's award-winning all-male production of Anthony Burgess' A CLOCKWORK ORANGE, directed by Alexandra Spencer-Jones, will return to London following its acclaimed premiere in Edinburgh in 2011 and an international tour. A Clockwork Orange opens at Park Theatre on 14 February and plays until 18 March, with a press night on Thursday 16 February.
