Tom Gold Dance presents its sixth annual New York City season, Tuesday, March 14 and Wednesday, March 15 at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College.

Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden announced today the annual selection of 25 motion pictures that have been inducted into the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress because of their cultural, historic or aesthetic importance.

The New York Philharmonic will present Beloved Friend - Tchaikovsky and His World: A Philharmonic Festival, January 24-February 11, 2017, featuring Russian-born Semyon Bychkov conducting works by Tchaikovsky as well as composers he was influenced by and whom he influenced, with piano soloists Yefim Bronfman and Kirill Gerstein.

The Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra welcomes the Providence Singers to the stage for their tenth joint performance of Handel's Messiah. Providence Singers Artistic Director Christine Noel takes the podium as guest conductor for this perennial favorite holiday concert. The performance features a family-friendly start time of 7:00pm on Today, December 10 at The VETS in Providence.  Soloists include soprano Margot Rood, mezzo-soprano Christina English, tenor Marcio de Oliveira and bass Nicholas Laroche.

Lehmann Maupin is pleased to announce its second solo exhibition for Kader Attia. This will be the New York debut of Attia's multimedia video installation, Reason's Oxymorons (2015), which premiered at the 13th Biennale de Lyon in 2015. Reason's Oxymorons is a video library comprised of 18 interviews presented within a modular cubicle environment. The interviews feature European and African ethnographers, psychiatric and philosophical practitioners, and theorists discussing topics grouped under titles including "Genocide," "Totem and Fetish," "Reason and Politics," and "Trance." On Friday, January 13, there will be a media preview at 11 AM, and the gallery will host a public opening reception for the artist that evening from 6-8 PM.

Ephraim Palm Beach Jewish Film Festival will present movies from around the world, opening with ON THE MAP, the true story of Israel's 1977 basketball team, the first to ever bring the coveted European Cup to Israel.
