Chairman of the Melbourne Theatre Company Board, Derek Young today announced Brett Sheehy as the new Artistic Director and Chief Executive for Melbourne Theatre Company.

Mark Moraghan, best known for playing Consultant Owen Davies, a role he played for 5 years in BBC1's Holby City, will join the cast of West End hit Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical, to play mechanic Bob. Moraghan joins previously announced new cast member Richard Grieve, who plays Tick, from 7 March 2011. The Olivier award-winning musical, which is currently booking at the Palace Theatre until 7 January 2012, also stars Don Gallagher as Bernadette and Oliver Thornton as Adam.

Based on the Oscar® award-winning film and written by Stephan Elliott and Allan Scott, Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical tells the story of Tick, Bernadette and Adam, a glamorous Sydney-based performing trio who agree to take their show to the middle of the Australian outback.

The stars of PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT THE MUSICAL, Will Swenson, Tony Sheldon and Nick Adams joined together with WCBS 2 and the IT GETS BETTER PROJECT to record a message of hope for teens that are struggling with bullying. Sheldon reveals, 'I did the very first workshop when it was just a 10 day experiment to see whether the film would transplant onto the stage. And by the end of the 10 days when we presented it, we realized this show has legs. So that was when I actively committed to wanting to do the show, but then I had to audition- along with everybody else.'

The continuation of Broadway's longest-running musical The Phantom of the Opera, Love Never Dies will open in May 2011 at the Regent Theatre. It's now been announced that The Phantom and Christine will be revealed in Melbourne next week, in a special announcement that will also feature the pair singing two songs from the show ('Til I Hear You Sing and Love Never Dies) along with a full orchestra. Nearly 900 entertainers are said to have had auditioned for the parts.
