The world premiere of award-winning playwright Alex Moggridge's unique & compelling new play with music Simon Dawes Becomes a Planet will get a limited engagement at Access Theater (380 Broadway, 4th Fl.) beginning tonight, September 23 through Saturday, October 8 (Opening Night is Saturday, September 24 at 8pm).

Casting has been announced for George Bernard Shaw's THE PHILANDERER at the Orange Tree Theatre. Rupert Young (High Society at the Old Vic, Sir Leon in BBC's Merlin) plays Leonard Charteris, the philanderer of the title. He's joined by Helen Bradbury, Joe Idris-Roberts, Michael Lumsden, Dorothea Myer-Bennett, Christopher Staines, Mark Tandy and Paksie Vernon.

Sheffield Theatres' associate director Charlotte Gwinner returns to directing duties at the Crucible with Waiting For Godot. This version of Samuel Beckett's classic features a stark, yet somewhat beautiful set from designer Simon Daw that sits on the boundary between art and nature; life-and-death; beauty and terror-a visual metaphor for many of the themes of the play.

Highlights include three world premieres - of new plays from Richard Bean (One Man, Two Guvnors), Chris Bush and a co-production with Third Angel, a new British musical, Flowers For Mrs Harris, by Richard Taylor and Rachel Wagstaff, a regional premiere of Mike Bartlett's (Bull, Doctor Foster) Contractions and two major new productions of 20th century classics - A Raisin In The Sun and Waiting For Godot.

Singer-songwriter and fiddler Sara Watkins, known for her work in the Grammy-winning band Nickel Creek and as a frequent guest on A Prairie Home Companion, brings her signature sound to Pepperdine University's Smothers Theatre at 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 11.

Theatre Suburbia, Northwest Houston's longest-running all volunteer playhouse, is ringing in the new year with a production of local playwright Carl Williams' UNDER A COWBOY MOON. The light-hearted comedy takes place in the small west Texas town of Spitwhistle, where there really are only cowboys, longnecks, and the Saddle Horn Bar. To encourage tourism, the residents of Spitwhistle organize a cowboy poetry contest with a $500 grand prize. However, a TV crew from the Boston PBS affiliate arrives to film to contest and the prize is raised to $5,000. With a touch of romance and a lot of ego, the competitors set out to prove who has the best pen in the west.

TWO, by Jim Cartwright and directed by Andrew Muir will play Southwark Theater from tonight, 24 October - 16 November 2013.

Daniel Lapaine will be joined by Jonathan Firth, Sam Graham, Clare Price, Will Alexander and Kirsty Oswald in THE WINTER'S TALE at the Crucible Theatre from tonight, October 2, 2013. The production runs through November 2nd.

In the eyes of their adoring public, the Landlord and Landlady are perfect. They laugh, they joke, they listen and they drink. But when the bell rings for time and the public have gone home, we see that perfection doesn't exist. A past event that appears at the bottom of every glass needs confronting. Will tonight be that night?

The opening night reception of the highly anticipated U.S. premiere of the Royal Ballet's production of The Metamorphosis at The Joyce Theater, starring acclaimed Royal Ballet principal dancer Edward Watson, directed/choreographed by Arthur Pita, is set for Tuesday, September 17 at 9:15pm at the Chelsea restaurant (address given upon RSVP).
