The Royal Shakespeare company is delighted to announce that on World Book Day, Thursday 7 March at 7pm, cast members from the multi award-winning Matilda The Musical will present this year's Official World Book Day Bedtime Story.

Artistic Director of Sheffield Theatres Robert Hastie today announces the full casts for the debbie tucker green's hang; and the world premiere of his production of the new musical Standing at the Sky's Edge with music and lyrics by Richard Hawley and book by Chris Bush.

Tim Bluhm is set to release his new full-length solo album, Sorta Surviving, on March 29, 2019. A gentle departure from his usual California-Soul sound of the Mother Hips, Sorta Surviving finds Bluhm living out his classic country musical dreams. Produced by Widespread Panic's Dave Schools and anchored by all-star band members Jesse Aycock (guitar, vocals) and Jason Crosby (piano, violin, organ), and Nashville session legends Gene Chrisman (drums) and David Roe (bass), Bluhm's new album was recorded at Cash Cabin Studios in Hendersonville, TN. “Recording in that space with those guys was like a dream come true for me,” says Bluhm. “The depth of knowledge they walk around with in their heads is amazing, and you know you can trust the musical choices they're making.” Today, Jambase premiered the video for “Where I Parked My Mind”, an up to date representation of a night on the town and its repercussions. Director Tim Duggan tells Jambase, “People start their night expecting to have the time of their lives and often they try to portray that kind of ecstasy with phones and social media. The Royal Shakespeare Company's Matilda The Musical has partnered with Covent Garden, the ultimate destination for a magical festive experience, to offer visitors a rare opportunity to sit in Miss Trunchbull's chair, if they dare.

Production has officially wrapped in Alabama on the coming-of-age teen comedy “This is the Year” starring breakout actor Lorenzo Henrie (“Fear the Walking Dead”) and Gregg Sulkin (Marvel's “Runaways,” “Faking It”). David Henrie (“Wizards of Waverly Place,” “Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2”) is directing the film and wrote the screenplay with Bug Hall, Pepe Portillo and Sienna Aquilinni.

The Royal Shakespeare Company has announced that Elliot Harper will play Miss Trunchbull in Matilda The Musical's UK and Ireland Tour from Tuesday 15 January at Theatre Royal Plymouth. The tour will then play at the Alhambra Theatre, Bradford (19 February - 23 March 2019), Edinburgh Playhouse (2 - 27 April 2019), The Bristol Hippodrome (7 May - 8 June 2019), Mayflower Theatre, Southampton (11 June - 6 July 2019) and Norwich Theatre Royal (16 July - 17 August 2019). The West End production will continue to play at the Cambridge Theatre, where it is now in its eighth year and is booking until 24 May 2020.

This new musical has been extended three times and will now run through Sunday, December 23.

The Public Theater announced today a final two-week extension for the North American premiere of GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY.

Following a sold-out run at London's Old Vic and a West End transfer, GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY, from Olivier Award winner and Tony Award nominee Conor McPherson and music icon Bob Dylan makes its North American premiere at The Public with an American cast this fall. Dylan's inimitable songbook is authentically transformed by McPherson into an achingly beautiful story of a down-on-its-luck community on the brink of change in Duluth, Minnesota, in 1934.

Australians in Film (AiF) has announced the 2018 honorees for the Australians in Film Awards, an annual gala fundraising event celebrating Australian talent in the entertainment industry. This year's event will take place at Paramount Pictures Studios on October 24.

The Public Theater will begin previews for the North American premiere of GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY on Tuesday, September 11 with a Free First Preview performance. This new musical was initially extended through Sunday, November 18, and has been extended an additional three weeks through Sunday, December 9

The Royal Shakespeare Company has announced new child casting for the Matilda The Musical UK and Ireland Tour with Sophia Ally and Scarlett Cecil joining Annalise Bradbury and Nicola Turner in sharing the title role of Matilda from 29 August. The West End production will continue to play at the Cambridge Theatre, where it is now in its seventh year and is booking until 20 October 2019.
