The Sheen Center for Thought and Culture is thrilled to celebrate the release of rapidly rising New York City poet Sarah Kay's newest book, The Type, with a night of poetry and surprise guests on Friday, March 4 at 7:30pm in the Sheen's Loreto Theater. In a rare hometown show, Kay will perform new poems and old favorites, including 'The Type,' the poem that 'explores the promise and complicated reality of being a woman' and which will now be available in a beautiful illustrated hardcover from Hachette Books. Peter Shaffer's stirring play "Amadeus" can move you to the point of tears, but only when it's done well. It is by no means a bulletproof play. Unfortunately the current production at Seattle Public Theater, while managing a few interesting performances, really just stands out as having an unfocused concept and is about as engaging as a history lecture.
