The Kimmel Center and The Shubert Organization are proud to announce a spectacular array of Broadway's Tony Award-winning favorites coming to Philadelphia for the 2010-2011 Broadway Season at the Academy of Music and the Forrest Theatre.

The producers of THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS, the exhilarating new Kander & Ebb musical, are pleased to announce a student rush policy. THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS begins previews on Thursday at the Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45th Street). Opening night is Sunday, October 31.

The City of Philadelphia along with legendary local radio personality Jerry Blavat and The Greater Philadelphia Traditions Fund, will welcome the Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award Winning Best Musical, JERSEY BOYS, to Philadelphia for an 11-week engagement at the Forrest Theatre beginning Sept. 30 to Dec. 12 with a block party celebration on Tuesday, Oct. 5 (rescheduled due to rain from Sept. 30). BURN THE FLOOR is coming to Philadelphia for a limited engagement Nov. 12 - 14, direct from Broadway. The tour features "So You Think You Can Dance" alums Anya Garnis, Pasha Kovalev, Ashleigh Di Lello, Ryan Di Lello, Robbie Kmetoni, Janette Manrara and Karen Hauer.

In a recent article in the NY Post, Michael Riedel reveals some hidden Broadway secrets including the historic Music Box Theatre (239 W. 45th St.), built by Irving Berlin in 1921. According to Riedel, Berlin had an office upstairs with a hidden door leading to a secret room that is rumored to have held his stash during Prohibition.

Two students were presented with JimmyTM Awards for Best Performance by an Actor and Actress on Monday, June 28 at Broadway's Marquis Theatre at the 2nd Annual National High School Musical Theater Awards (NHSMTA), presented by Pittsburgh CLO and Nederlander Alliances LLC. Alexandria Payne of the Tri-Cities High School in Atlanta won for her performance as ‘Ti Moune' in Once on This Island and Kyle Selig of Huntington Beach High School in Long Beach, CA won for his turn as ‘Don Lockwood' in Singin' in the Rain. Each student received $10,000 to further their education and they are eligible for four-year merit and need-based scholarship assistance to attend the NYU Tisch School of the Arts Department of Drama, Undergraduate at New Studio on Broadway: Music theatre and Acting, contingent upon acceptance into the program.

Kathie Lee Gifford will host the 2nd Annual National High School Musical Theater Awards (NHSMTA) on Monday, June 28 at the Marquis Theatre (1535 Broadway). The NHSMTA is a national celebration of outstanding student achievement recognizing individual artistry in vocal, dance and acting performance by high school students. Forty-four young performers will compete for the coveted JimmyTM Award for Best Performance by an Actor and Best Performance of an Actress, as well as merit scholarships and professional opportunities.
