In what is believed to be the world's biggest blind date, the producers of the musical ONCE in Toronto have arranged for 1,200 single people to go on blind dates on Wednesday, June 3rd at an evening performance of the Tony Award-winning musical. Below, check out this video from this event!

Tickets are now on sale for the preview concerts, scheduled for tonight, June 3 at 7:30pm, tomorrow, June 4 at 7:30pm, Friday, June 5 at 7:30pm and Saturday, June 6 at 2:00pm.

ABC has announced that Jim Parsons, star of Broadway's AN ACT OF GOD, will appear on THE VIEW today, June 2nd. Author Judy Blume will also appear on the broadcast.

The Shubert Foundation announces a record total of $24 million in grants to 488 not-for-profit performing arts organizations across 46 States. The 2015 grants mark the 33rd consecutive year the Foundation has increased its giving.

He writes in the invitation: 'Someone up there in cyberspace has intimated that you might be interested in an invitation to a rather unusual theater event. The very first incarnation of 'School of Rock' will be a staged, actually highly staged concert at the Gramercy Theater for just a few performances.' The article also reveals that the show, which begins previews on Monday, November 2, 2015 at the Winter Garden Theatre, will star Alex Brightman (Wicked, Big Fish, Matilda) as substitute teacher, Dewey. The new Broadway comedy An Act of God, starring Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Jim Parsons, began performances on May 7 and officially opens tonight, May 28, 2015 at Studio 54 (254 West 54th Street).

STARS IN THE ALLEY, presented by United Airlines, was held just yesterday in Shubert Alley, hosted by Darren Criss who is currently playing Hedwig in the 2014 Tony Award-winning Best Musical Revival, Hedwig and the Angry Inch. To add to the festivities leading up to the Tony Awards, the free outdoor concert in the heart of the Theatre District celebrated Broadway with star appearances and exciting performances from over 20 new shows and long-running favorites, accompanied by a 12-piece live orchestra, including many of this year's 2015 Tony Award - nominated plays and musicals! It was announced today that the new Broadway musical Doctor Zhivago, which opened at the Broadway Theatre on April 21st, 2015, will record its cast album on Thursday, May 28th

Musical theatre star Betty Buckley recently spent time backstage at THE VISIT with Chita Rivera. In an Instagram post, Buckley wrote, 'Backstage at 'The Visit'with the incredible Broadway Star, Ms. Chita Rivera! My eyes are red from crying at the beauty of this special piece of Art & theater, centered around the extraordinary performance by beloved Chita! Amazing! She touched my heart & soul so deeply! BroadwayWorld has learned that Roger Rees is currently on leave from The Visit, and in his place, Tom Nelis is temporarily stepping in as Anton Schell. No word yet on the duration of the hiatus. Of note, the star has also been swapped out for Nelis on the show's official web site. According to audience member reports, Nelis is giving a stellar performance in the role opposite the legendary Chita Rivera. Keep checking BroadwayWorld as we learn more!
