Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Announces Spring 2021 Digital Season

The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center has announced their Spring season of digital offerings from April 1 to July 1, which is dedicated to the late Gustave M. Hauser.  CMS presents 28 digital programs, with concerts premiering on Thursday evenings at 7:30 and educational and hybrid talk-and-performance programs premiering on Monday evenings.

Music Institute Chorale Welcomes International Guests March 14

Looking ahead to its 35th anniversary later this year, the Music Institute of Chicago Chorale, conducted by Daniel Wallenberg, welcomes guest musicians from around the world for its free virtual performance, How Can I Keep from Singing, which takes place Sunday, March 14 at 2 p.m.

Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Announces New Season

The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (CMS) today announces the details of its 2020-21 season. Titled Bridging the Ages, Co-Artistic Directors David Finckel and Wu Han look to the work of Franz Schubert a?" whose music is the subject of CMS's Winter Festival a?" as the inspiration for the season. Schubert was the bridge from the Classical to Romantic age, connecting musical ideas between eras. Taken as a whole, the season will show how compositions from the earliest years of the chamber music repertory link to compositions in the middle and later years of the genre, leading to a dynamic musical presentation that encourages audiences to imagine the compositional voices of the future. The new season will also expand CMS's commitment to free digital access to chamber music through a new partnership with Tencent for the Chinese-language audience.

November 22, 2019 Astonishing in their choice of repertoire, their innovative choreography, their elaborate and colorfully creative costuming and their commanding performance of the choreography. Don't let this first photo confuse you. This Company is so many things, and the picture represents but one facet of their dance works ~ I just had to use it for the beauty and uniqueness of it. The evening commenced with a sextet of pieces that were entitled The Heritage of the Great Steppe, following the history and traditions of the Kazakhstan people. Beautifully executed and visually stunning, each one was unique.

Rochester's world-renowned Garth Fagan Dance presents its exciting 2019 Home Season just in time for the holidays: December 11 a?" 15 at Nazareth College Arts Center (4245 East Avenue, 14618)'s Callahan Theatre. Home for the Holidays performances are: Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m.; Thursday, Dec. 12 at 8 p.m.; Friday, Dec. 13 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 14 at 8 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. A meet-and-greet in the lobby with the entire company will follow each performance.

New Pacific Symphony Cellist to Return to Orange County School of the Arts

An awe-inspiring evening of mentorship and musicianship awaits as two special guest artists join the Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) Symphony Orchestra for a performance of Brahms' Double Concerto at the upcoming Winter Concert. Both principal musicians of Pacific Symphony, Dennis Kim (concertmaster) and Warren Hagerty (recently appointed principal cello) also have a connection to OCSA.

CMSD Presents Polonsky-Shifrin-Wiley In Detroit Debut, November 16

In early 2018, renowned clarinetist David Shifrin announced the formation of a new trio. Shifrin's colleagues in this ensemble are distinguished cellist Peter Wiley (formerly of the Beaux Arts Trio and Guarneri String Quartet), and rising star pianist Anna Polonsky.  They make their Detroit debut on the Chamber Music Society of Detroit's Signature Series on Saturday, November 16 at Seligman Performing Arts Center, 22305 W. 13 Mile Road in Beverly Hills. 

Imani Winds Comes to the Wharton Center

Imani Winds is a Grammy-nominated wind quintet that for the past two decades has created meaningful connections through music and, by doing so, has set a new standard for chamber music. The group blends traditional chamber music and newly commissioned work that reflects historical events and today's issues. Imani Winds harnesses dynamic playing and adventurous programming to create breathtaking performances.
