Westport Country Playhouse will present a Sunday Symposium titled, 'A Conversation About the Work of Alan Ayckbourn,' following the Sunday, August 2, 3 p.m. matinee performance of Ayckbourn's classic comedy 'How The Other Half Loves.' Guest speaker will be Howard Sherman, executive director of the American Theatre Wing. The symposium will be a free-ranging discussion about the playwright, his influences and his impact on the modern theatre.

The June 2008 broadcast of the 62nd Annual Tony Awards was honored today with two Prime Time Emmy Award nominations in the Outstanding Special Class Programs Category & Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video Control For A Miniseries, Movie Or A Special Category. The New York Daily News reveals that Neil Patrick Harris is thinking about getting into Hugh Jackman's pants. The News' Joe Dziemianowicz reports that Sunday's Tony Awards host Harris has asked Jackman, who has emceed Broadway's big night three times, for tips on spicing up the ratings-impaired telecast.

The American Theatre Wing presented its annual spring gala, last night, Monday, June 1, 2009 at Cipriani 42nd Street (110 East 42nd Street). As in years past, the American Theatre Wing Spring Gala will brought together the best of Broadway. Tony Award winner Hugh Jackman served as the evening's Honorary Chair and Mrs. Schuyler G. Chapin, Lucia Hwong Gordon and Anthony D. Leeds served as Gala Co-Chairs. The entertainment portion of the evening was produced by Class Productions and directed by Lauren Class Schneider. All proceeds benefit the education and outreach programs of the American Theatre Wing.
