Birmingham Hippodrome - the UK's most visited theatre - has today announced details of 10 exciting new titles for 2017 including the return of the Fairy Godmother of all pantomimes, Cinderella.

At a ceremony held today at London's Cafe de Paris, host Steve Furst announced the nominees for the 17th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards, the only major theatre prize-giving decided entirely by the theatregoers themselves.

Elaine Paige remains the leading lady of the West End after 50 years in the business and also hosts a weekly Musicals show on Radio 2.This unique collection of her favourite songs from the musicals celebrates the best and most successful musicals ever made.

The National Youth Music Theatre celebrated its 40th birthday in style - with ENCORE: 40 Years of NYMT, a star-studded West End gala night at the Adelphi Theatre. The glittering evening, on Sunday 30 October, featured an array of performances celebrating the last 40 years of NYMT, lots of surprise guests and items and some previews of what is to come. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Sheridan Smith has taken a leave of absence from Funny Girl at the Savoy Theatre due to 'stress and exhaustion.' Today, producers have confirmed that the actress will return to the West End production tonight in the role of Fanny Brice. Natasha J. Barnes has subbed for Smith since the end of May.
