Since 2004, director Mallory Catlett has worked across disciplines to expand the boundaries of theater. Through original works with her own company, Restless NYC, and collaborations with some of today's leading artists-composer Mika Karlsson (The Echo Drift), Dread Scott (Decision), Aaron Landsman (City Council Meeting & Perfect City)-Catlett creates theater that The New York Times calls "lurid, feverish and powerful." She has been called a "downtown treasure" by Time Out New York.

THE ENCLAVE Begins Performances Tonight at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater

RATTLESTICK PLAYWRIGHTS THEATER (Daniella Topol, Artistic Director; Annie Middleton, Managing Director) is proud to announce that performances of Arthur Laurents's THE ENCLAVE begin tonight, April 24, 2018. THE ENCLAVE is presented with the support of the Laurents/Hatcher Foundation, which has awarded The Arthur Laurents Centennial Grant to MIDDLE VOICE, the apprentice company at Rattlestick.. Directed by Victor Cervantes Jr. (The Parlour), THE ENCLAVE will play an extremely limited run at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater (224 Waverly Place) from April 24, 2018 through April 28, 2018.

Washington Ensemble Theatre Announces 15th Anniversary Season

Washington Ensemble Theatre has announced its 2018/19 Season, a dynamic lineup of three plays that celebrates its 15th anniversary as a producing theatre company in Seattle. The season, which is themed 'More, More, More!' in honor of the company's continued growth and consistent artistic boundary-pushing, includes the fantastical dark comedy Everything You Touch by Sheila Callaghan, political thriller B by Chilean playwright Guillermo Calderon, and the twisted horror-comedy Feathers and Teeth by Charise Castro Smith. In addition to these three mainstage productions, WET is pleased to announce a new addition to its programming, GUSH, a series that will bring a piece of contemporary theatrical work from outside Seattle to be performed on its stage each season. The first piece to be presented as part of GUSH is SINGLET, Erin Markey's tenacious look at earned intimacy and how rivalry, affection, and power intersect. WET will continue to produce as a resident company at 12th Avenue Arts. Subscriptions start at $60 and are on sale now at www.washingtonensemble.org.

West Coast Premiere Of Sheila Callaghan's ELEVADA Starts 5/4

Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, is excited to announce the West Coast premiere of Elevada. This romantic comedy is written by Sheila Callaghan and directed by Nicholas C. Avila. Elevada will run from May 4 - June 3 at Chance Theater @ Bette Aitken theater arts Center on the Fyda-Mar.

The F*CK!NG GOOD PLAYS FESTIVAL is a long-standing tradition at Rattlestick of doing readings of bold new works from Rattlestick Alumni Writers and from Rattlestick's apprentice company, Middle Voice; as well as welcome new writers to Rattlestick for the first time.  On the final day of the F*CK!NG GOOD PLAYS FESTIVAL, Rattlestick will present TheaterJam, a day-long event featuring over 20 writers.

New Light Theater Project Closes Season with THE HOLLOWER

New Light Theater Project is thrilled to present the New York premiere of the hollower written by Liza Birkenmeier and directed by Kristy Dodson. the hollower begins performances Thursday, May 17 for a limited engagement through Saturday, June 9. Press opening is Friday, May 25 at 8 PM.

Clubbed Thumb Announces Full Line-Up for 2018 SUMMERWORKS Festival

Five-time Obie Award-winning theater company Clubbed Thumb (Maria Striar, Producing Artistic Director; Michael Bulger, Associate Artistic Director) is proud to announce the line-up for SUMMERWORKS, its annual series of new plays. Now in its 23rd season, SUMMERWORKS will run May 19 through June 30 at The Wild Project (195 E 3rd Street) in Manhattan, and will feature productions of three new plays: TIN CAT SHOES by Trish Harnetiaux and directed by Knud Adams; WILDER GONE by Angela Hanks; and PLANO by Will Arbery and directed by Taylor Reynolds.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater Announces 2018/2019 Season

RATTLESTICK PLAYWRIGHTS THEATER (Daniella Topol, Artistic Director; Annie Middleton, Managing Director) is proud to announce its 2018/19 season. In Fall 2018, MacArthur Genius Grant Winner Samuel D. Hunter (The Whale, Bright New Boise, The Few) will team up with long-term collaborator Davis McCallum with the plays Lewiston and Clarkston, to be performed on a double bill for the first time. In Spring 2019, Rattlestick will present the World Premiere of Lockdown by Cori Thomas (When January Feels Like Summer), and directed by Kent Gash (Barbeque), commissioned by Rattlestick with support from The Toulmin Foundation.

Mashuq Mushtaq Deen (The Betterment Society, Resident Playwright at New Dramatists), is making his New York debut in the New York premiere of DRAW THE CIRCLE. The hilarious and moving story of his transition, DRAW THE CIRCLE is told entirely from the point of view of Deen's family and friends, as portrayed by Deen, bringing to life the often-ignored struggle that a family goes through when their child transitions from one gender to another.

UW School Of Drama Presents 12 OPHELIAS

What if, instead of drowning, Shakespeare's Ophelia had splashed through the brook water and found a parallel universe on the other side? In playwright Caridad Svich's lyrical deconstruction of Hamlet, Ophelia cuts a new path for herself through a neo-Elizabethan Appalachia. In this world, Hamlet is known as Rude Boy, Gertrude is a brothel madam, and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are her androgynous helpers.

Dan Lauria to Lead the Off-Broadway Cast of THE STONE WITCH

Producers Darlene Kaplan, Laura Janik Cronin and Scott J. Newsome, have announced, today, the cast and creative team for the Off-Broadway premiere of The Stone Witch, a play by Shem Bitterman (A Death in Colombia, Influence). Performances begin Monday, March 12, 2018 for an open-ended engagement at The Westside Theatre - Upstairs (407 West 43rd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Opening Night is set for Sunday evening, March 25, 2018 at 6:30PM.
