To commence the festivities for Downtown Berkeley Association's sixth year MusicFest, Bay Area a capella singers Talk of da Town (who appeared on NBC's 'The Sing-Off') perform sizzling renditions of R&B, Motown and doo-wop hits. Their warm and joyful music will charm your socks off :) Feet at the ready you can then(as Clifton Chenier once said about Zydeco) '...dance, your aches and pains will disappear' to the sounds of Grammy nominated virtuoso accordionist Andre Thierry & his band Zydeco Magic. Andre and the band are cooking up a soulful bubbling cauldron of Zydeco Creole music that is stewed and imbued with hip-hop, blues, jazz and rock mastery! Both groups are performing in a free concert on Thursday, August 1st from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Downtown Berkeley BART Plaza.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival and Retrop Productions will present JULIAN PO, a new musical with book and lyrics by Andrew Barrett and music by Ira Antelis, from July 8 to 14, 2013. JULIAN PO, which mixes comedy and drama, opens in New York after a critically-acclaimed, sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where it was nominated for "Best Book of a Musical." JULIAN PO, based on the book La mort de monsieur Golouja by Branimir Š?epanovi? and the screenplay "Julian Po" by Alan Wade, features elements of pop, rock, country, bluegrass and gospel. JULIAN PO is an official selection of The New York Musical Theatre Festival's "2013 Next Link Project." The show is directed by Kirsten Sanderson with music direction by Mark Hartman.

Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts announced today 34 additions to its 2013 summer schedule at the Filene Center at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts. In a wide-ranging season that features opera, theatre, comedy, dance, symphony, international and contemporary music, Wolf Trap continues to strengthen its commitment to the presentation of high quality, accessible and affordable arts experiences for the broadest possible audience. Tickets to the newly announced shows go on sale Saturday, March 16 at 10 am, with more performances to be announced later this spring.

Acclaimed songwriters (and longtime friends) Mary Chapin Carpenter & Shawn Colvin share the stage as an intimate duo, performing material spanning their vast catalogues, as well as some of their favorite songs.

The Jewish Museum and the Film Society of Lincoln Center will present the 22nd annual New York Jewish Film Festival at the Film Society's Walter Reade Theater, Jan. 9-24, 2013. The festival's 45 features and shorts from 9 countries - 23 screening in their world, U.S. or New York premieres - provide a diverse global perspective on the Jewish experience. Many film screenings will be followed by filmmakers and special guests in onstage discussions.

WFUV will give thanks musically this holiday season with two days of concert broadcasts from venues as small as Electric Lady Studios and The Living Room and as large as music festivals like Newport Folk and SXSW, starting on Thursday, November 22nd from 10 AM-Midnight and continuing Friday, November 23rd from 10 AM-2 PM. The first day of the annual Thanksgiving Feastival brings listeners performances by the likes of Dawes, Calexico, Regina Spektor and Wilco as well as a broadcast of the Arlo Guthrie classic "Alice's Restaurant" at noon. On Friday, the live music marathon continues with performances by Shawn Colvin, Alabama Shakes, Norah Jones, and Sigur Ros throughout the day. New Yorkers can tune into WFUV at 90.7 FM, while Thanksgiving revelers across the country and worldwide can stream the whole Feastival at www.wfuv.org.

Shawn Colvin, Shelby Lynne, and special guest Steve Earle, have been added to the lineup for the 8th annual Holiday Cheer for FUV concert on Wednesday, December 5th at 8:00 p.m. at the Beacon Theatre. They join the previously announced headliner Lucinda Williams, as well as the emerging band Lake Street Dive, who will perform a short set. Tickets for the concert to benefit New York's Rock & Roots public radio station WFUV (90.7 FM/wfuv.org) are priced from $40 - $120 (plus a $5 facility fee) and are available through Ticketmaster.

On the heels of Live @ Benaroya Hall's successful inaugural performance with Dwight Yoakam, they have expanded the eclectic offerings of their stellar first season by adding two more intimate music concerts: The Flatlanders on October 9, 2012 and Aaron Neville on February 19 and 20, 2013.

Grammy-winner Mary Chapin Carpenter has played the White House, the Superbowl, the World Series and the Grand Ole Opry. On Sept. 15, she'll play Jorgensen on the University of Connecticut campus.
