Shannon Mullen, who currently stars as Sherrie in ROCK OF AGES' second national tour, has missed four performances. And the show kicked off in October 2011. She's currently proving to Chicagoans she's a tiny powerhouse with a killer voice eight times a week with the rest of the ROCK cast at Chicago's Broadway Playhouse, where the show is currently in the middle of a sit-down run through August 5.

It's 1987 on the Sunset Strip, a small-town girl met a big-city dreamer - and in L.A.'s most legendary rock club, they fall in love to the greatest songs of the '80's. It's ROCK OF AGES, a hilarious, feel-good love story told through the hit songs of iconic rockers Journey, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Foreigner, Pat Benatar, Whitesnake, and many more. ROCK OF AGES is touring the US, and Audra Stafford caught up with Shannon Mullen for BroadwayWorld in San Diego. Check it out below!

Following a highly successfully L.A. premiere this past February 2011, ROCK OF AGES, the five-time Tony Award nominated smash-hit musical, returns to Los Angeles for a strictly limited, face-melting one week engagement now through March 25, 2012 at the Pantages Theatre. L.A. audiences were so amped during the show's premiere engagement that it was clear those die-hard fans who continued singing 'Don't Stop Believin' down Hollywood Boulevard as they left the Pantages Theatre hadn't been rocked hard enough!

A certain generation (namely, my own) is going to really get a kick out of ROCK OF AGES. Those younger than me will still be amused by its wildly over the top antics, but those that are older may be a bit befuddled by the constant barrage of cultural references from the late 1980's, and probably have no familiarity at all with most of the music that's from that era. I think ROCK OF AGES is a gloriously hilarious and completely ridiculous homage to the big hair, hard rock anthem bands that ruled MTV and the radio at that time. This was cruising music when I was in my late teens and early twenties, so I instantly identified with the attitudes presented, and the music that accompanies each melodramatic moment.

The musical that has been dubbed 'an arena -rock love story set to mind blowing, face melting rock hits of the 80's' is a pretty fair description of what took place at the Merriam Theater on Opening Night, October 18th.

The second national tour kicked off last night in Providence, RI

Newcomer Nikki Bohne will star in a new tour of the Tony-nominated LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL launching today in Jackson, Mississippi. Bohne, a recent graduate of Brigham Young University, will play the role originated in the film by Reese Witherspoon, and onstage by Tony nomiee Laura Bell Bundy. Bohne's regional credits include Aida (Amneris) and West Side Story (Anybodys) both at the Hale Center Theatre, Footloose (Rusty) and Annie Get Your Gun (Annie), both at the Playmill Theatre.
